Senior Legal Counsel, Communications Law

• JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 10 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  
• Experience in telecommunications or technology law, including the legal landscape regarding submarine cables and technical infrastructure.
• Experience advising on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters at a law firm, in-house, or government agency.

Preferred qualifications:

• Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the jurisdiction in which the position is located.
• Knowledge of technical issues, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to be organized, responsive, and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
• Ability to work on a broad range of legal matters.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, and investigative skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with telecommunications laws and regulations in Europe and other jurisdictions worldwide.
• Obtain necessary regulatory authorizations for Google’s products, services, and infrastructure operations.
• Develop and maintain legal resources.
• Research, develop, and articulate Google’s positions on telecommunications and media issues pending at relevant regulatory bodies.
• Respond promptly, clearly, and accurately to a wide range of requests from product counsel, product managers, engineers, and other business clients.
