Senior Software Engineer (Build DevEnv) with DevOps focus

The FC DevEnv department designs state of the art software tools for the Software Developers within ASML. Extending and transforming a world class environment by continuously innovating and introducing new tools like GitHub Actions, Bazel Build System, Docker, Kubernetes and much more.

Role and Responsibilities
You’ll be the Senior Software Engineer (Build DevEnv) with DevOps focus. You’ll report to the IT Line Manager | IT Solution Delivery Scanner & Source DevEnv, but you’ll also be part of the larger IT sector – where we explore, design and evaluate innovative technologies that help everyone at ASML to tackle their business challenges. You'll be an active member of the DevOps Build team that actively develops our integrated Software Build System environment.

As Senior Software Engineer (Build DevEnv) with DevOps focus, you'll:

• Managing and maintaining proprietary build system in Make

• Developing and maintaining a supporting set of software applications with help of CI/CD pipelines in a multi-OS environment

• Migrate from current system into a new build system based on off the shelf tools to write great code

• Implement and extend our Software Development Environment (DevEnv), in a blend of existing and new tooling

• Analyze user stories, design the solution and implement them.

• Take responsibility for delivery high quality work.

• Developing, implementing and improving the CI/CD platform.

Education and experience
To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes. As Senior Software Engineer (Build DevEnv) with DevOps focus, you’ll need:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering or computer science or equivalent;

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer in a DevOps environment role Solid understanding of Software Engineering principles, such as design patterns;

• You write code that is testable, maintainable, secure, fast;

• Python is your middle name; experience in working on C/C++ builds or similar lower level and working with Unix based systems;

• Experience writing build rules / build recipes using systems like gmake, cmake, etc is a must;

• Understanding of build dependency management is a must;

• You are experienced in working in a true Agile environment;
