AI Lead Engineer

Do you want to help industrialize AI at scale in one of the world’s most advanced tech environments? As our AI Lead Engineer, you’ll be part of ASML’s Chief Data Office (CDO), where we build and run AI platforms that power smarter decisions across the semiconductor industry. You’ll lead a team of engineers and work with global stakeholders to turn cutting-edge AI into real-world impact.

Role and Responsibilities

You’ll lead the design, development and deployment of scalable AI/ML workloads across hybrid cloud environments. Your work will enable secure, reliable and high-performing AI services that support ASML’s global operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Mentoring 20+ engineers across four AI-focused teams.
• Designing and implementing secure APIs to expose platform services and integrate loosely coupled components.
• Automating infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Implementing observability frameworks (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) for monitoring, logging and tracing.
• Driving cross-sector co-development initiatives and promoting reusable frameworks across ASML regions.
• Conducting quality reviews and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Education and experience

You bring a strong foundation in software engineering and cloud-native technologies, with a focus on AI/ML operations.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering, with a focus on AI/ML.
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud or AWS) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with GPU-accelerated compute environments and AI tools such as NVIDIA Triton, Kubeflow or MLflow.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript or Bash.

Other information

This position is part of the CDO AI Services team and is based in Veldhoven. You’ll work closely with AI Engineers, the US Lead Engineer, Domain Architects and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of AI solutions across ASML.
