Job Mission

As Analyst Geopolitics & Public Policy, you are responsible for informing, engaging and connecting internal and external stakeholders by monitoring changes in geopolitical developments, relevant public policy areas and industry best practices. You provide input to the Geopolitics & Global Advocacy team and help create position papers and narratives accordingly. You’ll be involved in developing the execution of ASML’s global advocacy strategy and will report to the Head of Geopolitics & Public Policy. You will work closely together with colleagues at ASML's headquarters and throughout the world.

Main responsibilitites:

• Continuously monitor and interpret the (geo)political and public policy landscape and provide ASML's Geopolitics & Global Advocacy team and leadership with practical insights on policies that may have an impact on ASML. This includes a variety of trade policies (e.g., export controls, tariffs, critical minerals, etc.) in and between different regions (e.g., Netherlands, Europe, US, China).

• Analyzing public policy developments and external party reporting relevant to ASML’s business. Being able to translate information to useable insights for ASML leadership.

• Developing and creating narratives in order to support our messaging internally and externally and support the advocacy team to develop regional narrative management.

• Preparing and/or reviewing corporate governance documents or reports, including board and committee meeting materials;

• Supporting and maintaining the ASML policy on policies, templates, methodology and process;

• Show sound business judgment and analytical skills, ability to help analyze, formulate, develop input for global strategies and advocacy directions.

• Show appetite and capability to independently identify (geo-)political risks and opportunities, and initiate and execute actions.

• Support promotion of a positive presence of ASML with government institutions and other public organizations to (help) shape the policy environment relevant for ASML business

• Work collaboratively with other Departments to ensure strategic alignment, well-informed decision-making and compliance and improve public and governmental awareness within ASML.

Education and experience

Education

Master degree in the fields of international relations, political science, public administration, business and engineering, or communications.

Experience

• 2-5 years of professional experience working on trade and technology related policy issues within industry, government, think tanks, or relevant industry associations.

• Affinity for and experience with high-tech; semiconductor industry experience is a plus.

• Experience in a multinational company and/or in an international governmental relations environment.

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of political processes and governmental organizations.

• Strong stakeholder management experience - working with executive levels in an international environment – and the ability to influence and network.

• Experience in working consultatively with tact and diplomacy and being persuasive in demanding situations.

• Fluency in English. Fluency or proficiency in Dutch is considered a plus.

Context of position

This position is part of the Geopolitics & Public Policy team at ASML’s global headquarters in Veldhoven. The team is responsible to:

•Assess and report impact of geopolitical and public policy developments

•Define ASML position on policy topics with involvement of stakeholders

•Provide Government affairs input to strategic decision-making and geopolitical scenario-building

•Coordinate alignment between HQ and countries/regions on policy and advocacy

The Geopolitics & Public Policy team is part of Geopolitics & Global Advocacy group , which is part of ASML Public Affairs, Country Management & Community Engagement.
