Are you energised by turning business challenges into robust IT solutions and by keeping solution design and architecture on track? As an IT Application Consultant within the Corporate Services value stream at Tata Steel Netherlands, you take care of the continuity, integration and lifecycle of business‑critical applications. Your focus is on HSE and Site Security solutions such as Cority and IDFlow. You connect business stakeholders, IT teams and suppliers, and you actively safeguard design quality: you review solution designs delivered by (TCS) development teams and independently perform design checks to ensure fit with standards, security and maintainability. Using your insight into applications, interfaces and dependencies, you help keep the landscape consistent, secure and ready for the future. 

You work in the centre of Corporate Services within Digital Technologies. Together with architects, developers and partners you deliver scalable digital capabilities for Tata Steel Netherlands. In practice, that means you help shape design decisions, keep architectural choices consistent across integrations, and take ownership of delivery, communication and follow-up to ensure changes are completed independently and on time. In this position you will: 

• Take end-to-end ownership of changes and projects. Drive enhancements and implementations for HSE and Site Security applications (e.g., Cority, IDFlow) independently from intake and requirements through go-live and post‑go‑live support. 
• Convert business demand into solid solution designs. Elicit and analyse functional requirements and translate them into feasible technical options and high-level designs aligned with target architecture and integration guidelines. 
• Align stakeholders and manage suppliers. Coordinate with business owners, functional administrators, architects, (TCS) developers and vendors on scope, priorities, planning and delivery, while taking ownership of communication and proactive follow-up. 
• Safeguard architecture and design quality. Apply the application architecture, review and challenge designs produced by (TCS) development teams, and perform independent design reviews. You use your understanding of interfaces and dependencies to protect coherence, security, compliance and long-term maintainability. 
• Improve stability and prevent recurring issues. Keep an eye on continuity and integrations, investigate incidents and change outcomes, remove structural causes, and maintain clear functional/technical documentation to raise reliability and efficiency.

You feel at home in fast-moving, business-critical environments. You can translate between business and IT, take responsibility for delivery, and work with a high degree of autonomy. You are able to review designs, ask the right questions and ensure architectural consistency across applications and integrations. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and understand why secure and reliable IT is essential for HSE and Site Security processes. You bring: 

• A completed HBO/WO education, for example in Informatics (or a comparable discipline). 
• At least 5 years of experience in IT application management, application support and/or a similar role. 
• A track record in implementing applications and delivering IT changes/projects independently, including translating requirements into solution designs and checking alignment with architecture principles. 
• Good understanding of ITIL and working in Agile settings, including how changes move through value streams/teams and pass quality gates. 
• Strong collaboration skills: you work effectively with business, architects, developers and vendors, communicate clearly, and proactively drive actions and decisions to completion. 
• Affinity with HSE and Site Security application landscapes (e.g., Cority, IDFlow) and with security, compliance and complex enterprise integrations. 
• With your experience and pragmatic mindset, you make sure delivery is not just fast, but also right: aligned with architecture, secure by design and built to last. You help keep HSE and Site Security applications stable, compliant and maintainable, while contributing to a coherent, future-proof application landscape.

You will be part of the IT Development & Operation team within IT Applications & Transformation, a core pillar of Digital Technologies at Tata Steel Netherlands. Digital Technologies is responsible for architecture, platforms, applications, data and digital services across the company. In this role you work closely with enterprise and domain architects and with (TCS) development teams to ensure designs and implementations meet agreed standards. 

In your role, you help deliver a secure and reliable application landscape for Corporate Services, with a clear focus on HSE and Site Security. You combine stakeholder management with hands-on governance of architecture and design quality, ensuring that integrations and changes are consistent, maintainable and ready for the future. The team is collaborative and supportive, with a focus on quality, innovation and professional growth, allowing you to make a real impact on both IT and business operations.
