Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels (OSV)

We design and deliver maritime projects for various markets like defense & security, public transport, offshore and dredging. Our projects are Engineered to Order (ETO). Which means we are involved throughout the project, from the commercial phase and building strategy, until commissioning, delivery and warranty. This makes our work very challenging because the environment is complex and we have a lot of stakeholders. We work in close cooperation with various internal departments, (sub)contractors, teams on the shipyard and of course the client and her representatives.

We do this with an international team of ‘can-do’ people that are developing new and innovative technologies and ways to support customers and push for a more sustainable maritime industry.

The role of Assistant Purchaser is within the Supply Chain department of Damen OSV, containing the teams Procurement, Material Coordination, Category Management and Standards & Documentation.

Job Description

In the role of Assistant Purchaser, your goal is to maintain the workflow of procured materials. Your responsibilities include processing order confirmations within our ERP program, uploading delivery details, and expediting open purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. In case of problems, you will look for the right solution together with the supplier, the purchaser and other internal stakeholders.

Task

  • Proactively monitor, expedite and follow up on procured goods and services from Purchaser Order till delivery at PO destination
  • Be in contact (by both phone and e-mail) with suppliers about confirmation and delivery reminders
  • Processing the order confirmations received from our suppliers
  • Informing the internal organization about deviations in for example delivery planning, pricing and delivery terms
  • Upload detailed delivery information at component level in our system
  • You look after the agreed way of working and address deviations to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the most efficient processing of information

Skills & Experiences

  • Minimum of MBO education
  • Minimum of three years working experience in a supporting, administrative or planner role
  • You get enthusiastic about logistics, purchasing, and supply chain processes
  • You do not hesitate to pick up the phone to contact our suppliers, in both English and Dutch
  • You have a pro-active, curious and commercial attitude
  • You like to tackle problems at the source
  • You take full responsibility of your part of the process and keeps an eye out for related process steps
