Business engineer

The Business engineer role is a vacancy in the Business analytics, Automation & Support (BAAS) team, which is part of the Supplier Operations department.

Supplier Operations consists of multiple category teams of Tactical buyers (TB) and Operational Supplier coordinators (OSC). Next to that a few central supporting teams are part of SO, where the BAAS team is one of these teams. The SO department is responsible for the execution of the requisition to pay process, securing material availability and reducing total costs of ownership.

To enable our department to secure material availability and reduce costs the Business Analytics, Automation & Support team plays a vital role by continuously improving operational processes (e.g. automation), providing valuable data insights and participating in (cross sector) improvement projects. We have the ambition to be a front runner when it comes to innovation. A large component of our work is Data analysis (building dashboards and performing ad hoc analysis), but next to that Business engineering (detect process bottlenecks and pitch new ideas) is an important component as well.

In your role as business engineer you work together with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g. Tactical buyers, Operational Supplier coordinators, SO team leads, IT, internal customer Departments).

Role and Responsibilities

In your role you are involved in all phases of driving a process improvement (project initiation, design, build, test and deployment of a change). You are responsible to deliver a technical solution, but it’s essential that you take organizational aspects such as project planning, stakeholder management and deployment plan into account in order to implement a change successfully. A main component in your job is to design and build data insights. Next to that you’ll build automation solutions yourself or in collaboration with IT.

Education and experience

• Bachelor or Master degree with experience in working with data analysis tools and techniques or equivalent level.
• Knowledge of modelling, visualization and transformation.
• Experience with SAP ECC is preferred
• Experience with Business Analytics tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, Tableau, Azure is preferred
• 1-5 year work experience, preferably in Procure to pay domain.
