About us
Damen Services provides its services to the customers of Damen Shipyards as a total services solution provider. Damen Services is responsible for carrying out a wide range of service activities worldwide and on a commercial basis, resulting from the start-up, deployment and life time extension of delivered installations/vessels. Commissioning, repair, warranty, service and maintenance activities are the most prominent of these. Also the realization of training for crews, the delivery of ships, maintenance management and the supply of parts during (new) construction are part of the services portfolio. Finally, as a business partner of Damen Shipyards' customers, Damen Services also realizes structural and long-term projects.
The Asset Management Design (AMD) department is part of Damen Services. It is responsible for developing and supplying asset management solutions for our customers. This includes products such as spare part packages, vessel operating manuals, maintenance plans and maintenance analysis. The products are created in multi-disciplinary teams.
The role
As Configuration Engineer Parts you gather the information from a wide range of sources to establish the configuration of a vessel. Thanks to your practical technical knowledge, you can determine the ships configuration and create a Product Breakdown structure in our common Source Database. You gather the necessary data and documentation for the other teams so they can base their products on the information.
Key accountabilities
- Gathering all relevant Configuration data;
- Gathering all relevant Service information;
- Creating Product breakdown structures in the Common source tool;
- Maintain the configuration database and archive.
Skills & experience
- Strong attention to detail and an affinity for configuration management, data management, and change control;
- MBO technical education, Maritime or equivalent;
- Thorough knowledge of ship systems is a plus;
- Reading / interpreting technical drawings;
- Experience with ERP systems and working with databases;
- Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing;
- Can work well under time pressure;
- Accurate, orderly, customer-oriented, quality-conscious;
- Team player and has a hands-on mentality.
