As contract and procurement manager you operate within Capital Contracting & Procurement and you support the efficient and effective management of supplier relationships across Tata Steel Netherlands (TSN). Your objective is to maximize supplier value by fostering collaboration, ensuring high performance, driving innovation, and improving the sustainability and reliability of the supply base.

 

Primary internal stakeholders include project managers, category managers, buyers, and senior managers who rely on critical supplier partnerships for Capital Goods and Services delivery. Working within the framework of TSN’s procurement strategy, you are responsible for the strategic development and governance of key supplier relationships. Next to this you strive to continuous performance improvement within the defined mandate.

 

As contract and procurement manager strategic sourcing at Tata Steel you:

  • Develop and implement supplier relationship strategies in alignment with overall category and sourcing objectives in close collaboration with Tata Stell Limited.
  • Lead regular performance reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitate structured supplier collaboration processes to support cost, quality, and innovation initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring clear communication of needs, expectations, and feedback.
  • Support project and category teams in optimizing supplier value contribution, including strategic relationship input to sourcing decisions and contract renewals.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance supply reliability and cost improvements/efficiency.

You work purposefully towards shared outcomes, bringing diverse interests together in concrete agreements. You set high standards for quality, combine sharp negotiation skills with sound judgment, and are able to deliver results in complex environments. Further you have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
  • At least 10 years of proven commercial experience in a similar procurement role and solid market insights across brought applicable supplier portfolio..
  • Strong affinity with the technical aspects of large-scale projects and a solid understanding of the legal side of tendering, contracting and dispute resolution.
  • Experience with complex EPC(M) contracts and civil contracting models.
  • A track record in stakeholder management, with the ability to build trust and alignment across diverse groups.
  • Creative, commercial minded thinker capable of developing innovative solutions.

You’ll be part of a CAPEX Procurement team of around 25–30 colleagues, organized into three sub-teams: Green steel; Sustenance & Improvement; and Excellence & Strategic Sourcing. Together, we support all commercial activities for the Projects & Engineering organization. It’s a strong and well-structured team, bringing together professionals at every level — from juniors to highly experienced seniors.
