As an Electronics Designer you are mainly defining the requirements and coordinating the realizing of various electronic concepts and products for both existing and new ASML products. Furthermore you contribute on defining the next generation of these products in very close cooperation with the electronics architect.

The concepts and products we mainly focus on are controls electronics like power amplifiers and sensor acquisition electronics.

Job Description

The Electronics lead designer is main responsible for the following:

• Understand and coordinate EDEV related challenges on e.g., sensing and actuation (HW) concepts, timing & synchronization with CARM, control electronics.
• Be the responsible knowledge holder and maintain the HSI (hardware-software-interface) or hardware description model and related documentation.
• Be the responsible knowledge holder for the team on analog and/or digital board designs, electrical modules and infrastructure.
• Contribute to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed FC-072 (Laser Light Positioning) functions. Get agreement with multidisciplinary stakeholders from SDEV, MDEV, MTD, Metrology and IE, to accurately position mirrors to steer multiple laser beams on to Tin droplets.
• Be able to dive deep into technical issues to steer integration team towards issue resolution.
• Act as the Electronic Development representative, interacting intensively in a multidisciplinary design team.
• Act as a technical leader and be able to manage the outsourcing of development activities at co-developers.
• Contribute to trade-off studies to determine the preferred implementation scenario for new or changed functions. Get agreement with stakeholders.
• Make work breakdown and effort estimation for the various designs, adjusted with other stakeholders.
• Guarantee design quality and compliance by knowledge, experience and usage of reviewing and risk reducing tools.
• Contribute to the roadmap concerning the electronics within the ASML products.
• Contribute to analysis and solution of reliability issues.
• Contribute to planning efforts for the various electronics products.
• Act as a technical coach for other team members and don’t be afraid to support your colleagues on E-integration challenges.

Education

• Master degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• Multiple years of experience in guiding designs of electrical & electronic modules, racks (e.g. CARM), PCBA’s.
• Experience with actuator control loops and related electronics is highly desired.
• Broad technical knowledge of electronics with basic knowledge of physics, mechanics, mechatronics and software.
• Technical knowledge of analog and digital design
• Familiarity with SW/HW interface concepts (e.g. SW access to low level data in HW) and SW usage of control electronics
• Experience with working in multidisciplinary design teams to establish agreement on specifications.
• Experience with ASML standards and Ways of Workings is highly appreciated, either as a former ASML employee or contractor.
• Experience with electromechanical designs is a plus.
• Familiar with SAFe - Agile wow is a plus.

Context of the position

The sector Development & Engineering (D&E) of ASML is responsible for the specification, design and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio. Within the sector D&E the cluster Electronic Development (EDEV) is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions and modules within these products.

Within EDEV EUV the group Laser Light Positioning (LLP) is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions needed for the beam transport system in the CO2 Source.

The Electronics senior design Engineer reports to the EDEV EUV LLP Group Manager.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
