As Gas Safety E-Architect you are the functional owner and defining, realizing, managing and maintaining various electronics concepts / products to secure safe operation of gasses in the ASML system. Furthermore you contribute on defining the next generation of these products in close cooperation with the system-architects. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the electrical architecture of the Gas Safety (System) in FT of EDEV MC&D EUV.
  • Hardware owner of the Gas Facility Unit (GFU) which has an ATEX zone and Remote I/O.
  • Secure Electrical Safety, Product Safety and reliability of the GFU.
  • Multi-platform responsibility over NXE, EXE and Work centers.
  • Provide technical directions towards a small design team (CDE, EME, INT).
  • Support Gas Safety competence with ATEX compliancy and SIL3 calculation.
  • Define and maintain functionality of sensors/actuators and their connection towards Scanner Safety PLC.
  • Alignment with other FC architects about transducer interfaces and requirements. 
  • Review safety logic needed for a safe H2 release to the source and scanner. (controlling combustion/explosion risks).
  • Review safety logic and hardware needed for N2 (controlling asphyxiation risks).
  • Roadmap definition of EDEV part of Gas Safety.
  • Close cooperation within the ADM train towards the 'Gas4U' Gas Safety project team.
  • Provide input for the PO (6Q plan) and SM (work breakdown) for the ADM WoW.
  • Act as the Electronic Development representative in a multidisciplinary design team with focus on Gas Safety.

Education and experience

  • Master of Electronics or equal by experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in electrical design, technical lead or architect, including experience with working in multidisciplinary design teams to establish agreement on specifications. · Broad technical knowledge of electronics with basic knowledge of gas safety, physics, mechanics, mechatronics and software.

Other information

The sector Development & Engineering (D&E) of ASML is responsible for the specification, design and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio. Within the sector D&E the department Electronic Development (EDEV) is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions and modules within these products. The E-Architect / Sr. Designer reports to the Group Lead machine conditioning and dynamics.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
