This Employee Communications role is part of the Comms & IAR team within the Marketing & Communications (M&C) organization in ABB E-mobility. Based on its brand purpose to “support customers to electrify mobility” M&C’s core responsibility is to position ABB E-mobility as a reliable partner and authority in the industry and to enable our colleagues across the organization to fulfill their mandates, with insightful and actionable content as well as activating our brand internally and externally. Through a proactive communications approach, we seek to positively influence our brand's positioning and perception, turning our employees into passionate brand ambassadors. This Employee Communication Lead role is part of the Communication & IAR team Marketing & Communications (M&C) organization in ABB E-mobility, led by the CMO. Your responsibilities

  • We are looking for an Employee Communications Lead who is seasoned in internal communications, has long-standing experience in counseling executives and other senior leaders on internal communications strategies. The candidate should be an expert in translating business objectives into meaningful internal communication strategies, plans, and messaging.
  • The ideal candidate is flexible and able to navigate ambiguity and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, deadline driven environment with multiple priorities. Having strong interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully influence and work across functions and personalities are key competencies in this role.
  • This future colleague should feel comfortable working in a small and nimble Communications team, where everyone has a hands-on approach to the day-to-day work. Currently, this role reports directly to the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer).
  • Responsibilities
  • As part of the team, you will be responsible for developing and executing employee communication strategies for building a common, independent culture, brand, and strategy in ABB E-mobility. Your key responsibilities are:
  • To design and execute efficient employee communication plans including campaigns, messaging, an activity calendar, and content creation.
  • To orchestrate and execute the overall planning, coordination and alignment of internal strategy, culture, organizational and transformational communications activities.
  • To work closely with the leadership team to translate the business objectives into meaningful internal communications activities, providing advice and support for the leadership team members in delivering impactful communications and ensuring an appropriate cadence and consistent, meaningful messaging for the various audiences.
  • To create content and manage conversations in the relevant channels ranging from writing messages to town hall presentations, videos, and internal social media posts

Your background

  • You should have a minimum of 8-10 years of internal corporate communications experience, ideally in the technology industry for a company with a start-up culture or in a communications agency, supporting those tech companies. You must have strong written and verbal communications skills and must be a team player and collaborator. In addition, you:
  • Have a relevant university degree.
  • Have excellent message creation, writing and editorial skills.
  • Can easily identify opportunities for stakeholder interventions and rapid responses in conversations and user generated content.
  • Have a radar for picking up employee sentiments and interpret them.
  • Understands the social media universe and maintains a mix of participation (personally and professionally) among various channels demonstrating authenticity individually and for the company.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and execute.
  • Looks for a solution when faced with roadblocks.
  • Has a strong team work ethic and is able to effectively work within a virtual team that is geographically dispersed.
  • Is eager to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.
  • Can guide internal and external resources and agencies
