Damen Services provides a broad portfolio of services for the entire life cycle of a ship built by Damen. This includes the handling of warranty calls, delivery of vessels, training crew members, delivery of spare parts, providing maintenance, and execute modifications & repairs. Damen Services' mission is to support sales in selling vessels by providing added value built on services. Providing excellent services increase the likelihood that a customer will choose Damen again to buy a ship for replacement or expansion.

At the operational level, the Services organization maintains contact with clients and is the eyes and ears of the sales organization. Damen Services is a dynamic organization due to its global character. This is reflected in behavior of its employees; together we make it happen, approachable, proactive and always in for the extra step.

Damen Services relies on a solid IT platform to conduct its business. Pillars in this IT platform are IBM MAS, SAP and Salesforce amongst others. Within the wider Damen organization we have several "Squads", i.e., multidisciplinary teams that maintain and further improve/develop IT solutions. These Squads operate in Agile/DevOps style.

THE ROLE

As an IBM MAS Solution Developer in Damen Services you will be part of the team 'Digital Tooling' and will work in close collaboration with developers from suppliers that build and enhance the IBM software platform. The team’s objective is to optimize, promote and maintain usage of digital tooling in the broadest sense.

One of the organization’s challenges due to the evolving IT landscape, is to effectively align processes overlapping multiple systems. Therefore, part of the role will be to assist Key Users, Business Owners and other stakeholders to optimize tool usage, raise requirements for improvements and adjustments, assist in development of new business processes from a functional perspective and to facilitate knowledge transfer. Besides earlier mentioned, IBM Maximo is implemented for management of the installed base and to facilitate Services’ product portfolio towards the Damen organization and to customers. As one of the main pillars in the foundation of the Damen Services IT platform it needs constant development and maintenance. You will play an active role in the Scrum team to contribute to reach the target as set forth in the IT Roadmap.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• You are responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying the solutions that power our IBM MAS platform;
• Implement solutions using Low-code solutions over custom development
• Work collaboratively and closely with peers from cross functional teams and the IT&IM department to deliver coordinated software solutions;
• Together with your team members you are continuously improving the team performance in all the scrum events (sprint planning refinement, sprint review, retrospective and daily scrums);
• Peer-review the work of your co-developers to ensure high quality solutions;
• Proactively suggest items to improve the platform and guard its long-term sustainability;
• Understanding the needs of the users thoroughly, so that these can be transformed into working software and delivering value to the business;
• Create and update IBM specifications and supporting documentation;
• Instilling quality by adhering to Scrum values and working Agile;

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree level of thinking in Computer Science or equivalent education;
• Effective communication skills (English), able to work in an international team;
• Proactive self-starter who takes true ownership of PBI’s;
• Critical thinker, with a problem solving mindset;
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in consulting / development / configuration;
• Experience with one or more of the following; IBM MAS / IBM MX Mobile / WatsonX AI / Orchestrate / Python / NodeRed / Building (complex) flows / Experience with working Agile and Scrum;
• Quick learner that wants to remain at the forefront of IBM developments, eager to learn new skills;
• Nice to haves: IBM certificates and experience with the next topics: Docker, integration best practices, IBM MAS, IBM MX Mobile, NodeRed, Python, JavaScript, WatsonX AI, AI prompting.
