Internship: Business Analyst (AI Value Realization)

Damen Shipyards Group is committed to becoming the world’s most sustainable and digitally connected shipyard. The Damen AI Team develops scalable AI solutions that drive value across the organization. You’ll join Damen in Gorinchem, working on applied AI topics with real business impact.

The role
AI adoption at Damen is accelerating. To ensure these investments deliver value, we need to measure and understand their impact. As an intern, you’ll engage with business stakeholders, translate challenges into actionable AI projects, and benchmark value realization against industry best practices.

Themes you will be diving into are as follows:

• How do AI solutions impact key business KPIs and value drivers?
• What factors influence the success and adoption of AI in business processes?
• How do requirement quality and stakeholder engagement affect value realization?
• How do Damen’s results compare to industry benchmarks?

Key accountabilities

• Gather and document business requirements for AI projects
• Analyze data and develop dashboards to track value realization
• Prepare user stories and business cases for AI initiatives
• Benchmark AI value realization approaches against market and industry standards
• Synthesize external research to inform internal AI strategy
• Engage with stakeholders and identify opportunities for improvement

Skills & experience

At least several skills/experiences from the following list are required to be considered:

• MSc or advanced Bachelor student at the intersection of Innovation, Business, and AI/Business Analytics
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Experience with BI tools and data analysis
• Interest in AI, value modeling, and business strategy
• Innovative, proactive, and fluent in English
