Lead mechanical engineer - tooling development

Take ownership of one or more tooling development activities. Lead a design and/or small team of mechanical experts in project setting. Is responsible for the design of precision mechanical tools, which meet the needs of the users and which are reliable, robust, safe, ergonomic, contamination free, cost effective and intuitive, easy to use, manufacture and service.

• Taking lead in running tool development activities to develop assembly and qualification tooling
• Creating and executing an activity plan, including clear communication of status and results
• Translating performance specifications into tested and released hardware
• Delivering technical product documentation, maintaining requirements and design decisions according to engineering change control principles
• Securing design quality by driving design verification and seeking customer satisfaction actively by product validation, confirming optimal usability, manufacturability and serviceability
• Contributing to development of tooling competences

• Technical High school or University graduate in mechanical engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience
• Experience in leading a small design team in a complex technical environment
• Knowledge of precision engineering, ergonomics, dynamics, mechatronics , thermal and high precision adjustment, position and fixation solutions

• Highly motivated team player with excellent social, coordination and communication skills
• Enjoy an international multicultural team environment and work well with others
• Show commitment with a pragmatic attitude to realize objectives and take ownership to overcome obstacles
• Ability to provide technical direction, motivate and convince a team of professionals
• Capable of adjusting communication style based on the audience
• Good knowledge of English language

Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design and engineering of the ASML products.

In this sector, Mechanical Development is a cluster to specify, design, and qualify the various modules of the ASML products. Each cluster consists of discipline and function oriented sub-clusters and Departments where emphasis lies on particular competence or functions in ASML equipment.

Tooling Technology is such sub-cluster and Manufacturing & Service Tooling is a department within this sub-cluster that focus on developing solutions for manufacturing and service of ASML products.
