The Lean team supports the EUV Factory (EF) organization to drive Operational Excellence as a means to realize the business goals of the factory. As a Lean Business Partner, you will be the trusted partner of the business managers, guiding and supporting them through the change transformation.

Since the beginning of 2017, the foundations were laid to create pull for Lean principles within the EF organization. The EF staff embraced Lean Leadership behavior and the ground-work of Hoshin Kanri, Daily Performance Management and Structured Problem-Solving were laid.

8 years on, the Lean team has expanded their support by “stepping into the dance” of the operations in order to develop the Lean competency required to achieve success in our unique and challenging manufacturing and business environment.

The Lean Business Partner (LBP) reports to the Manager Lean within the Operational Excellence department of EF. The LBP is the business partner for the NXE Manufacturing department and responsible for driving the NXE Manufacturing improvement strategy on Operational Excellence. She / He drives the Lean activities and supports and guides teams and leaders with running improvement activities, implementing the performance management system, coaches them in developing problem solving techniques and Lean leadership behavior. As an LBP, you will respectfully challenge the status quo and act as a role model for Lean thinking.

Role and Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the LBP are: driving the business performance impact of the Lean program (A3’s, 4C’s, Breakthrough Initiatives) and developing the Lean and Operational Excellence capabilities of the EF NXE Manufacturing organization (training, coaching, challenge on Lean principles, being a catalyst in driving the change). The position also requires experience in both project & change management skills. (i.e. event planning, execution & follow up). The holder of this position also contributes to ASML’s Operational Excellence System by improving the Lean and Operational Excellence standards used within the EF Lean team and ASML.

In alignment with the accountable business manager, as a business partner You will:

  • Set & agree operational excellence goals and plan

  • Drive and support the strategy deployment process and performance dialogues in NXE Manufacturing

  • Define success criteria and roles & responsibilities

  • Challenge progress regularly with the NXE Manufacturing team and other relevant stakeholders

  • Be a role model in adapting Lean principles and coach on Lean behavior

  • Support business impact initiatives (A3’s, 4C’s, breakthrough initiatives)

As a Lean team member You will:

  • Share and inform the team about deployment progress, bottle-necks and help requests

  • Supports your colleagues pro-actively in the deployment or building each other’s expertise

  • Contribute to improvements to the ASML Lean standards

  • Challenge your colleagues by adapting the Lean principles in our own team

  • Improve our daily operations and participate in strategic steps

  • Be a partner towards the business in driving Lean improvements

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree

  • 10+ years of experience, including a manufacturing environment and in Lean deployment or application

  • Additional relevant experience with continuous improvement methods (problem solving, six-sigma) or change / project management experience is a pre-requisite

  • Fundamental knowledge of Lean principles and change management models, esp. creating FLOW in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with managing change on culture and leadership

  • Facilitation, training & coaching

  • Fluent in English

Context of the position

The current team (20 fte) is a multi-talented group of professionals with extensive experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Lean and Six Sigma from manufacturing powerhouses in the automotive, aerospace, high-tech, medical and finance sectors. What the members of the team have in common is the drive and passion for helping others in becoming a Lean organization. We would like to have a new colleague who can add value to the team with his or hers experience with Lean implementation, change management and pro-actively supporting the business in implement Lean principles. For this position, the indicative (fixed) annual salary range is between 108.000 euro and 135.000 euro. This range comprises vacation allowance. Company variable pay is not included in this range. The actual compensation offered will depend on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: job-related skills, relevant Education and (work) experience, certifications, demonstrated abilities of the candidate, pay relative to other team members.
