Do you see the big picture without missing the important details? Do you place the team’s goals first? Then we want to get in touch with you.

ASML’s Development and Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification, design and integration of the ASML machines. In this sector the department of Machine Conditioning DUV Scanner (MC DUV Scanner) specifies, designs and does the functional integration of the various (sub-)modules and architectures related to the Flow and Thermal domains. The department consists of discipline- and function-oriented groups where emphasis lies on particular knowledge/skills, architecture or modules in ASML machines.

In the position of Designer Engineer you are responsible for the conceptualization, detailed design and technical product documentation (drawings and other required documents for manufacturing) of Flow and Thermal (sub-)modules. You contribute to an important part of the Flow and Thermal design of ASML’s lithography tools!

Role and Responsibilities

The work consists on collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and specifications and translate them in detail design of hardware in the Flow and Thermal domain. Select appropriate components, materials and manufacturing technics to optimize design performance, cost and integration in the system, ensuring compliancy with the industry standards.

In this position you will be a Design Engineer in the team responsible for the interconnect and pre-install hardware. The scope of the team is the whole infrastructure that connects the various distribution units (water and gas), including pre-install piping and connections in the sub-fab, to the various modules in the scanner. You will actively contribute to the hardware road-map development in the team to bring new ideas for the future infrastructure of the DUV machines to meet our customer demands. You will define together with the team new solutions to continuously improve quality, reduce costs and optimize industrialization.

Additionally you will contribute to the development of the application “mechanical routing” in Siemens NX that will help us create our designs more efficiently and effectively. As such you will take part of the NX mechanical routing MC project for part of your time.

Main responsibilities:

- Develop new concepts: steer concept design choice, organize and prepare design reviews.

- Optimize the design to meet all requirements.

- Create detailed design (3D modeling and drawings) using Siemens NX software, and create the required documents for industrialization.

- Create and implement the Engineering Change(s) using Siemens Team Center.

- Give input (design effort) for the planning of your own design tasks.

- Solve issues: propose solution and implementation plan.

- Contact the supplier for design and drawing reviews on manufacturability (via Supply Quality Engineer).

- Validate your design: define and execute the tests to verify the specifications, actively support the first build of your hardware in the proto machine in the factory.
