Mechanical HVAC Engineer - Netherlands

Our site-based Managed Service teams across Ireland provide a cost efficient and effective framework for project delivery to our clients. We take projects ranging in capital value from €100k to €15M from concept through all stages of the project life-cycle to handover. We safely deliver diverse portfolios of projects including buildings, cleanrooms, utilities, process installations, regulatory upgrades and equipment replacements.

At present, we are looking for an Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join the on-site Managed Service team in supporting a confidential client in Eemshaven (The Netherlands).

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with multi-discipline Engineering\Design, Project Management and Construction Management teams.

• Lead various projects from a Building Services and Mechanical perspective and be part of a multidiscipline team.
• Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions.
• Provide support to fee and capital budget proposals as required.
• Monitor Building Services and Mechanical engineering staff at junior levels, as required.
• Check other Mechanical / building services engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews.
• Requires extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor's representatives, contractor and project field personnel.
• Attend and participate in Client, Contractor and PM Group meetings.
• Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off mechanical installations.

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical HVAC Engineering or similar discipline.
• 5+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design.
• Chartered or working towards same.
• Ideally you will have experience working on industrial or mission critical facilities.
• Ideally the Engineer will have experience in working in both 2D CAD and 3D Revit / Cadworks design projects.
• Demonstrable advanced design experience in the complete suite of mechanical / building services. Particularly the following system types:
  • Chilled Water / Process Chilled Water generation & distribution
  • Low Pressure Hot water generation and distribution
  • Steam & Condensate generation and distribution systems
  • Mains, Hot and Cold Water
  • HVAC AHU’s and distribution Systems
  • Process Exhaust Systems
  • Process Compressed Air generation & Distribution
  • Process and Lab Gas systems storage and distribution
• Advanced knowledge of all applicable mechanical engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices.
• Commercially aware and have ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide costs effective solutions for our clients.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
• Professional approach and demeanour.
• A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business.
• Good knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
