Job

Introduction

Within the ASML development organization our Machine Conditioning (MC) department is responsible for Conditioning our lithography machines. Our objective is precisely control the temperature of the critical areas in the machine and to keep products clean of particle and chemical contamination. Besides this we control the vacuum in our EUV tool, which is also a part of our responsibility. This is accomplished by systems with controlled water cooling and controlled ultra high purity gas flows. You work with temperature control and gas conditioning, which is essential in reducing the environmental footprint of our machines – an essential part of our sustainability goals.

Role and Responsibilities

As lead engineer, you are responsible for the conceptualization, detailed hardware design and technical product documentation (drawings and other required documents).

This work consists of a translation of the architecture into a design that meets the agreed requirements; a creation of the 3D hardware design, volume control, engineering changes as well as design qualification and proving the design is working as intended.

You are pro-actively gathering data from suppliers, factory and field to continuously improve your design for future platforms and upgrades. You are creating a roadmap for the (sub)-modules you own.

The lead engineer maintains regular alignment with the Sub-Function architect and the product owner guides a team of designers (can be internal as well as via a co-developer). Team size can vary between 3-8 engineers.

In case you recognize yourself and feel inspired and challenged we invite you to apply.

Main responsibilities:

  • Translate performance specifications into design specification for (sub-)modules. (Key words: feasibility, flow, pressure drop, Gas purity, availability, manufacturability, design hardware, etc.)
  • Guide technical discussions towards the best design solution that meets all requirements and implementation (including quality and timing)
  • Ensure the design is documented with proper models and drawings.
  • Cooperate with (internal) customers and suppliers as input for the hardware roadmap and to close the feedback loop.
  • Coach and guide (junior) designers in making high quality designs.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in mechanical and industrial engineering, aerospace engineering or related fields

  • Solid design experience in relevant (F&T) industry
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in a lead engineer role.
  • Excellent knowledge in the field manufacturability of mechanical parts.
  • Technical communication with suppliers.
  • Experience with NX (Unigraphics) or similar CAD program required.

Personal Skills:
  • Motivated team player with a high level of social, coordination and communication skills (including speak-up and providing feedback).
  • Ability to show pro-active and self-supporting behavior in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to organize work effectively and having a systematic approach in problem solving.
  • Demonstrate self-awareness
  • Pragmatic, result-oriented attitude and cultivate innovations
