Lely’s innovative agricultural robots are increasingly dependent on (embedded) software for their functioning. With new and emerging technologies like Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Algorithms, Big Data, Internet of Things and ChatGPT, the possibilities are endless. A large number of Lely software engineers are continuously developing new functionalities and services for our customers.

New functionalities and services may potentially introduce safety or compliance risks for farmers or animals that need to be mitigated.  We are therefore looking for a Product Software Compliance & Safety professional to help us manage these risks.

Your role consist of the following elements:

• You will support software engineers with the development of safe and compliant functionalities and services for our customers, by providing clear requirements, establishing software compliance processes, performing risk assessments as well as consulting on risk reducing measures and test plans.  
• You will assess the functionalities and services that are being developed on compliance with established software requirement specifications by review of test reports, performing audits, organizing conformity assessments by notified bodies and by participating in GO/NO-GO decision events.

Additionally, you will stay informed of relevant technical developments, IT legislation (globally) and international IT standards, you will develop tools that aid the Lely software engineers in developing safe and compliant (embedded) software, and you will investigate and promote the application of relevant IT standards such as ISO/IEC 15504 & IEC 62443. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of international standards that are relevant for Lely.

You will work in the Product Compliance and Safety team, which consists of 10 passionate professionals with various expertise’s like Product safety, Functional safety, Electrical safety, Chemical safety & Occupational Health and Safety.  You will report to the Manager Product Compliance and & Safety.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information technology, Technical Computer Science or a similar educational background.
• Good understanding of (embedded) software development processes and knowledge of existing and emerging technologies.
• Experience in embedded software engineering and requirements specification.
• Sufficient knowledge of commonly used software programming languages.
• Good understanding of software quality principles, software testing methods and processes.
• Experience with Linux systems.
• You work in a very structured and accurate manner and are used to working in project form, but can also develop and prepare matters independently.
• You are process oriented and able to maintain an overview in complex projects.
• You can communicate on different levels.
• Proficiency in the Dutch language is an advantage.
