Overview

PM Group is now recruiting for a Project Controller / planner to be based on-site at a client in the pharmaceutical sector in the region of Brussels (Belgium).

Our OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) department supports projects in different sectors on basis of project staffing with consultants working at the client’s site.


Responsibilities

This job is a key role under the Large Capital Projects Delivery Organization within Engineering, Sites &
Facilities.


Goal: The purpose of this role is to support and enhance the project management team’s
knowledge, processes, and tools, with a specific focus the implementation of project control
through cost management, scheduling, and overall project control for large-scale projects
exceeding €50M.

  • assists large capital project teams in delivering projects within the defined scope, budget, and timeline, providing necessary tools and training for project control activities
  • implementation and performing budget control, planning support, and risk analysis
  • ensuring visibility on resources, timelines, costs, risks, and project compliance with management guidelines
  • working closely with the Project Manager and various project stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • reporting to Large Capital Project Control Lead

Project Support:

  • Assist project teams to deliver projects within the defined scope, budget, and
    timeline, support and provide the project cockpit to the project leads
  • Deploy and execute all necessary tools to support project control activities
  • Train and provide refreshers for the Project Managers community and some key project controls function like planning and cost contributors
  • Offer budget controlling support, planning support, and quality check support
  • Analyze project control, workload and provide reports on risks, issues, weaknesses, opportunity and inconsistencies to facilitate decision-making regarding project staffing

Project Control:

  • Support project leaders from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation with the help of external partners
  • Assist and highlight projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget according to project control tools
  • Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Coordinate with planning, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment across all disciplines
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, monitor cost performance, and manage budget changes. Identify and analyze variances between planned and actual expenditures and provide corrective action recommendations
  • Develop and maintain project risk registers and support risk workshops
  • Monitor potential project changes, evaluate impact on cost and schedule, and support the change control process
  • Analyze project status and, when necessary, assist in revising the scope, schedule, or budget to meet project requirements
  • Provide expertise in cost management, scheduling, and overall project control
  • Ensure adherence to project controls processes, standards, and governance as defined in the Project Delivery Framework

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master Degree chemistry, biology, engineering or pharma
  • Technical experience: Planning and cost expertise in pharma or other industry,
  • Project management certification is an asset (Prince or equivalent)
  • Lean management is an asset
  • Technical experience: minimum of 5 years of experience in CAPEX project planning, cost, risks or a similar role
  • Proficiency in project management tools MS Project, Primavera P6, Office suite, Planisware
