Overview

To support very important projects for a client in the pharmaceutical sector in the region of Brussels, we are searching for a HVAC & Black Utilities Expert. This position is open for employees and freelancers.

Responsibilities

  • Make sound decisions with agility
  • Be a key actor and participate in the transformation of client sites/campus
  • Participate to the feasibility study and build the conceptual design for new projects incoming
  • Bring his/her technical expertise to ensure the best technical solution is provided to our customers
  • Ensure the technical follow-up of all projects managed by the client Engineering & Sites and Facilities
  • Support other initiatives within Physical Asset Management
  • Build capabilities of Industrial Utilities equipment and distribution network users by Mentoring & Coaching (for part related to HVAC discipline).
  • Working with Design Engineering Leads to define the best solution to meet the customer needs
  • Ensuring the adherence to cGxP and EHS regulations and guidelines corresponding to related systems
  • Developing and lead a professional network (internal and external) constantly assessing and seeking best practices for use at the site and for the broader client network
    (active participation at ISPE or similar networks is encouraged)
  • Defining the cost estimates for “HVAC & Black Utilities” related investments
  • Providing Engineering expertise to users
  • Be a referent during the Technical Reviews.
  • Assure that Global Standard and Guidance are integrated in project.
  • Realize HVAC and Black Utilities analysis and be able to consolidate an HVAC parameter table, heat/thermal balance (heating, cooling, steam).
  • Build capabilities of HVAC & Black Utilities equipment and distribution network users by Mentoring & Coaching.
  • Developing a Competency Matrix at a global level
  • Defining & Developing Technical Engineering Standards taking accounts regulations, business constraints, safety & green aspects
  • Seeking opportunities to implement innovations in equipment lifecycle
  • Promoting digitalization tools in his/her own discipline

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of core principles in various engineering disciplines including manufacturing (e.g. cell culture, purification, aseptic filling, cGMP facility design) and support systems (e.g. Compressed gases, HVAC, Heating water, Chilled and Glycol water, Steam systems, humidifier, dehumidifier,…)
  • In-depth and specific technical knowledge of Thermodynamics, Fluids, Automation/Regulation, Piping, Material, etc.
  • Expertise in cGMP
  • Experience with verification, qualification & validation is an asset
  • Able to interpret and set-up P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFD (Process Flow Diagrams)
  • Acts as Expert for ATEX / Biosafety topics
  • Acts as technical Utilities expert during HAZOP (Hazard and Operability study) / QRA (Quality Risk Analysis) / FMEA
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE and PDA Guidance Documents
  • Experience in Engineering Technologies supporting product development and/or manufacturing
  • Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and EPCM
    (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) contracting models
  • Full professional proficiency in French and English (both oral and written)
