The Quality Management & Assurance (QMA) department is part of the ASML Quality & Business Performance Improvement organization. The ASML Quality organization is responsible for the ASML quality strategy, quality management structures to meet our customers’ expectations, the ASML quality management system and business process framework, and the operational excellence framework. The Business Performance Improvement (BPI) organization drives and supports ASML's growth and business ambitions by defining and prioritizing company-wide portfolio of ASML Prioritized Initiatives (APIs) which are developed and implemented in a similar Key Decision (KD) way-of-working in which ASML develops its products and services.

Job Mission

ASML business models and the fast growth in terms of business and organization drive the need for quality assurance means and methods that support the business to satisfy our customers’ needs and reduce waste. The QMA department owns and continuously improves the ASML Quality Management System (QMS) and is responsible for providing assurance that ASML’s QMS and business processes are capable of assuring quality in our products and services, whilst maintaining compliancy with the ISO:9001 standard.

As the Quality Assurance & Strategy Manager, you are responsible for developing and driving the quality assurance management strategy and to focus on and drive key improvement areas based on audit and assessment findings. And by doing so, help maturing the business process framework, continuously improving the QMS and ultimately enhancing the quality performance of ASML.

Job Description

The Quality Assurance & Strategy Manager is responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing quality management & assurance strategies and roadmap – including being a member of the ASML strategy network and day-to-day driving the quality strategy cycle.
    • Participants of strategy network (strategy managers) are delegated by the Quality Head of Business Performance Improvement & Strategy (Q-HBPI&S) to lead strategy coordination. Typical responsibilities (examples) are:
      • Drive mid- and long-term strategy setting, deployment and monitoring.
      • Explore long term scenarios with analytic approach.
      • Facilitate the relevant discussions to enable decision making.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and the quality management & assurance roadmap based on results from quality assessments, customer, internal and external quality audits.
  • Driving and monitoring compliance in the Business Performance Improvement (BPI) Key Decision (KD) way of working in ASML Prioritized Initiatives (APIs) – including being a back-up for the representation in the BPI Program Steering Group (PSG) on behalf of Quality.
  • Supporting the maintenance and implementation of the ASML Quality Management System.

Education and experience

  • Master degree in Engineering, Science or Management Sciences.
  • A thorough understanding of strategy and quality management concepts and principles as applied in a mature quality management system (e.g. APQC, ISO, EFQM, TQM).
  • Seniority and broad experience in: Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Assessments, CAPA management,  ISO certification, documentation control.
  • +10 years working experience preferably at high-tech companies, working with complex products and processes.

Skills

  • Broad knowledge of International Quality Standards e.g. ISO9001, IATF16949.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of strategy implementation and implementing quality tools, means and methods, ideally related to documentation information management.
  • Expertise and experience in strategy management, risk management and program/project management.
  • Experience in managing quality transformations.

  • Organizational and transformational knowledge with a strong business sense.

Context of the position

The Quality Assurance & Strategy Manager:

  • Reports to the Manager of the QMA department.
  • Owns the quality management & assurance roadmap.
  • Functionally leads and/or participates in ASML quality strategy sessions.
  • Interfaces with among others:
    • ASML Strategy network.
    • ASML line management and Business Process Owners.
    • Sector quality leaders and quality functions.
    • Business Process Management group.
    • Risk & Business Assurance department.
    • API program and product teams.

We have part of our team located in Veldhoven, The Netherlands and a part in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This position is located in Veldhoven, The Netherlands.
