PM Group are now recruiting new for a Regional Health & Safety Manager to join PM Group working for us in a Nationwide position.

As the Regional Health & Safety Manager you will be reporting directly into the Operations Manager with a functional report line into the Group Head of Health and Safety.

Working with the Group Head of Health and Safety, you will be responsible for ensuring full implementation of PM Group health and safety management arrangements across all Regional offices, construction projects and work locations.

This is a role that offers a diverse and challenging portfolio of projects and clients to work with. This role can be based from our Benelux or DACH region offices.

Responsibilities

Job Role and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead the development of Health & Safety Leadership & Culture in the DACH /BENELUX Region.
  • Implement PM Group’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy in the Business Unit.
  • Ensure full compliance with local and national Health and Safety legislation pertaining to the project construction phase and PM Group offices.
  • Develop project-specific health & safety strategies, programmes and plans in partnership with Group Health and Safety
  • Co-ordinate construction health and safety programme elements addressing site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare and emergency arrangements
  • Co-ordinate and manage on-site construction health and safety resources
  • Communicate and co-ordinate the adoption of industry best practices in health and safety on all projects
  • Establish a process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of site conditions and contractor activities
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators
  • Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching
  • Report to the Operations Manager and other forums on Health and Safety initiatives, objectives and performance
  • Support projects throughout their lifecycle from proposal, through design, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, handover and operational stages
  • Provide specialist health, safety and wellbeing advice to management and project teams
  • Assure legal / regulatory compliance with respect to latest occupational safety, health and welfare requirements for the business unit.
  • Ensure appropriate and effective emergency response, case management, incident investigation and reporting mechanisms are in place to facilitate learning from incidents (LFI)
  • Qualified to support a future ISO 45001 certification process
  • This is a very hands on role, where you'll also be responsible for carrying out duties of a site safety advisor when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a health and safety environment, recently graduated with a degree in Health and Safety Management, or studying towards a NEBOSH qualification
  • Fluent German / Dutch / French and English is essential, additional languages are an advantage
  • Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of design and construction health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
