    The Fermentation department:

    For our Fermentation department within Operations, we are looking for a driven Senior Supervisor working 16/7 shift schedule. In this role, you are responsible for the production of monoclonal antibodies within a safe and controlled "cleanroom" environment. You manage a team and contribute to achieving the production and quality standards, as laid down in the Master Production Schedule (MPS) or Shipment Schedule. You work according to the standards in the field of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S), cGMP and LEAN. Together with your fellow (Senior) Manufacturing Supervisors, you are responsible for achieving the core results of the department. You are committed to continuously improving processes and working methods and creating a stimulating and learning work environment for your team.

    Job Description:

    As Senior Manufacturing Supervisor, you will lead a group of approx. 15 operators within the fermentation department, that is approx. 160 employees. You work closely with the other (sr) manufacturing supervisors, manufacturing specialists, process engineers, trainers, QA, QC and MAM.

    Leads processes and assignments for the Operations unit and supports organizational objectives and business goals. Defines project terms to meet objectives and goals of the Operations unit. Establishes workflow for strategic plans and serves as a primary point of contact for the Operations unit. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment.

    The Senior Manufacturing Supervisor gets the best out of his or her people and is responsible for delivering a high-quality environment within the applicable standards in the field of safety and compliance.

    Specific tasks and job duties of the position that are required daily:

    • Be responsible for daily operations to achieve production targets while leading operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within expected standards.
    • Ensure a safe working environment and adequately follow up when improvements are needed.
    • Maintains front-line knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory issues to assist in the efficient management of tasks in accordance with internal and external regulations and procedures.
    • Proactively identify potential issues before they become significant problems and take necessary actions to mitigate risks and ensure operational effectiveness for the fermentation department.
    • As a People leader within the Operations Unit, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the personal and professional development of your team members. Acts as a mentor to less experienced Manufacturing Supervisors.
    • Foster a LEAN culture through Root Cause Problem Solving, manage Tier 1, and manage performance issues effectively. Advise managers on aligning metrics and operational focus to drive excellence across the organization.
    • Help monitor resources and escalate any concerns or issues to Sr leaders and present improvement proposals and / or projects to maximize successful business results.
    • Keeps oversight of project implementation, risk assessment and mitigation for the fermentation department.
    • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion by holding yourself, your team and the fermentation teams accountable for implementing strategies that attract, develop, advance, and retain diverse talent within the organization.

    Minimum Qualification:

    • HBO degree and one of the qualifications listed below:
    • A relevant HBO degree with at least 5 years' relevant experience,
    • A non-relevant HBO degree with at least 7 years' relevant experience,
    • An HBO degree with 5 years of people leader experience.
    • Dutch A2 and English B2 language levels are required.
    • Experience with cGMP environment and EHSS standards is required.
    • Experience with Lean methodology, Certified Green Belt.
    • Maintain a positive attitude that influences team morale and productivity.
    • Lead by example in maintaining calmness and composure during challenging
    • situations.
    • You can empower and convince people. Demonstrate effective change leadership
    • You are enthusiastic, independent and innovative (be able to think creatively), stress-resistant (deal with pressure, fast changes) and you can transfer this to your team.
    • Ability to work on a shift roster.
