THE ROLE

Damen Naval is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Software developer CAD/PLM who wants to work in the Enterprise Knowledge Language (EKL) and join our team, focusing on the 3DExperience (3DX) platform. In this pivotal role, you will develop EKL scripts and programs within 3DX (CAD/PLM platform), ensuring the platform meets the evolving needs of our business. You will analyse requirements, develop and document solutions, and provide strategic advice for continuous improvement. Your collaboration with solution providers will be key to creating scalable and innovative capabilities. You will also work closely together with the Functional Application Specialists 3DX, Testers and Key Users.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As Software Developer CAD/PLM (i.e. EKL Developer) at Damen Naval, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop business rules and actions for data generation, capture, modification, or extraction.
  • Maintain the Data Setup of 3DEXPERIENCE servers to ensure seamless user operations and error-free server performance.
  • Create and verify knowledge checks for data accuracy and generate reports and templates.
  • Develop business information essentials for reporting or enhancing functionality.
  • Collaborate with Functional Application Specialists and key users to identify and implement EKL automation options.
  • Review and refine functional specifications, devising technical solutions in consultation with Functional Application Managers or Global Solution Architects.
  • Independently program, test, and debug solutions, working closely with testers.
  • Document solutions through use cases and demonstrate them to key stakeholders.
  • Determine and develop routes for missing EKL methods in consultation with solution architects, utilizing CAA/C++ or raising program enhancement requests as needed.
  • Coach colleagues and create service requests to resolve bugs and improve systems.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To excel as Software Developer CAD/PLM, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Software development experience, preferably also with EKL and the 3DX platform, specifically with CATIA.
  • Proficiency with IT/IM products, services, and processes, particularly in relation to 3D design and engineering applications, PDM solutions, and engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (i.e. Python), databases, and distributed version control tools such as GIT.
  • Strong ability to work with and improve existing code as well as write new code.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Dutch or German is desirable.
  • Excellent references and antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
