Space Planner

Our Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Netherlands department is responsible for all CRE activities/responsibilities for the Netherlands portfolio and ensure alignment with CRE strategy, business continuity and operational excellence in accordance with CRE’s foundational elements.

The Space Planner is responsible for planning and managing the utilization of space in various locations of the organization in the Netherlands, while ensuring optimal functionality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The purpose of the Space Planner is to manage the space planning to optimize the housing demand and supply within the Netherlands and to combine this with an efficient and effective housing plan, based on an intended and purposeful vision.

The role of Space Planner entails the following key responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and deploy office housing planning for workplace demand, new buildings, rebuilding, ABW projects, small and large relocations.

• Create new way of working in housing space management, build this up into a solid baseline and develop into mature and professional level in line with stakeholders.

• Solve medium- and short-term housing issues, considering information about projects, occupancy and business needs to achieve best-fit solutions.

• Translate strategic housing issues into tactical solutions to be delegated to housing solutions specialist and services.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in space planning and design and implement these.

• Translate applicable housing data, share and discuss with CRE NL Business Partners in order to create the correct housing solutions.

• Map and safeguard the balance between workplace solutions like work & meeting space, technical areas, warehousing, training centers and service area’s and find applicable solutions where necessary.

• Analyze existing space usage and identify opportunities to optimize the utilization of space.

• Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the potential of renovating sites and make recommendations to management.

• Collaborate with Real Estate Development & Strategy (REDS) and CRE Center of Expertise (CoE) to ensure space usage is aligned with business needs and financial objectives.

• Track and report on space usage and occupancy rates to identify trends and inform future planning decisions.

• Provide guidance and support to departmental leaders in the selection and design of new workspaces based on the Workplace Experience Book developed by CRE CoE.

• Bachelor / Master degree in business management, hospitality management, facility manage or similar.

• At least 5+ years of similar experience in housing space management, scenario and demand management.
