About us

Damen Services provides its services to the customers of Damen Shipyards as a total services solution provider. Damen Services is responsible for carrying out a wide range of service activities worldwide and on a commercial basis, resulting from the start-up, deployment and life time extension of delivered installations/vessels. Commissioning, repair, warranty, service and maintenance activities are the most prominent of these. Also the realization of training for crews, the delivery of ships, maintenance management and the supply of parts during (new) construction are part of the services portfolio. Finally, as a business partner of Damen Shipyards' customers, Damen Services also realizes structural and long-term projects.

The Department

The Asset Management Design (AMD) department is part of Damen Services. It is responsible for developing and supplying asset management solutions for our customers. This includes products such as spare part packages, vessel operating manuals, maintenance plans and maintenance analysis. The products are created in multi-disciplinary teams.

The Role

The Team Lead leads a multidisciplinary team of 8-10 Project engineers in which the various assignments are carried out. You manage the planning, (financial) project administration and coordination of the various projects. In addition, you are able to coach, support and direct the employees in the execution of the various projects. You represent the team outside the department and are the first point of contact for the outside team. The team has a strong will to develop products and processes and is very quality conscious. You are able to translate this into concrete objectives and to manage the progress of the set objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and coaching of your team;
  • Project management of the projects;
  • Organize and distribute operational questions and requests that reach the team from the customer and the internal organization;
  • Ensuring the correct administration of the various projects;
  • Build and maintain a network of internal (and external) stakeholders;
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance during the execution of projects, with the set rules in the field of HSSEQ, the Code of Conduct and the standards and values ​​within Damen;
  • Guiding the various improvement processes and goals that have been set in the Policy Plan by and for the department;
  • Advisory role towards Account Management/D&P.

Skills and experiences:

  • HBO Bachelor, supplemented with relevant training courses;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a similar position, preferably a technical background in the maritime sector;
  • Familiar with common Mechanical engineering, knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and electronic installations is an advantage;
  • Result-oriented, a "leader" with initiative and management skills;
  • Mastery of Dutch and English;
  • Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders;
  • Quality awareness: achieving consistent quality, anticipating problems and adjust within the permitted standards;
  • Overview: overseeing situations and processes in time, recognizing problems and tackling them systematically with an eye for the consequences;
  • Planning and Organizing: Effectively determine goals and priorities and indicate the time, actions and resources needed to achieve certain goals;
