We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to support the technical assessment of laboratories for a client in the pharmaceutical sector in the region of Brussels.

This function is open for freelancers and employees.

Our OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) department supports projects in different sectors on basis of project staffing with consultants working at the client’s site.


Responsibilities

The Laboratory technical assessment Engineer is member of the Global Physical Asset Management team. By joining the team, the Laboratory technical assessment Engineer is part of a changing environment which requires its support to gain in maturity.

This role focuses on proposing technical recommendations to event or incidents on the clients' laboratory assets. Recommendations are based on first analysis performed by local entities and an in-depth analysis.

The role focuses on the study of technical data (e.g. work orders, maintenance plans, manual of utilization, P&ID, FMEA), combined with "hands-on" knowledge of equipment and close collaboration with Users (maintenance team, Laboratory team, compliance, QA, etc.) to assess Laboratory equipment health status and proper management.

The role involves proposing technical recommendations to maintain asset in good condition until its estimated end of life, in relation to identified risks and gaps.

This role focuses on physical assets.

Laboratory technical assessment engineer key accountabilities are:

  • Execute inventory of Lab equipment
  • Identification of critical equipment
  • Deep-dive on equipment data (Maintenance maturity, Work Order, level of obsolescence…)
  • Perform Root-cause analysis
  • Risks and recommendations escalation
  • Develop an overall report (Recommendations, Investment plan CAPEX…)
  • Management local customer/partner expectations
  • Development of the service by participating to the clients' methodology modifications, being part of the team while developing the framework and technical knowledge
  • Be a technical referent for one or more physical laboratory asset technology, share knowledge

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years experience in chemical, pharma, biotech specifically for equipment & clean utilities
  • Experience in pharma and technical environment is a must
  • Experience in laboratory equipment is mandatory
  • Experience in working with scientists on equipment optimization (experience with research equipment)
  • Language: French is a must, and scientific English is also a must
  • Technical skills: e-tools such as MS-Office, MS Project, SAP PM & PS module
  • Ability to understand the need to help the client with standardization (understand their environment and ask the right questions)
