THE ROLE

As the Team Lead Applications at Damen Naval, you will lead a team of Functional and Technical Application Managers responsible for ensuring optimal performance of IT applications. You will focus on fostering a collaborative team environment, aligning capacity planning with individual strengths and ambitions, and delegating tasks effectively. By liaising with IT and business departments, you’ll ensure your team delivers high-quality solutions that meet organizational needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Functional and Technical Application Managers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
• Oversee the design, development, integration, and lifecycle management of IT applications, stepping in only for escalation.
• Act as the primary point of contact for collaboration with other IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure services align with team and organizational goals.
• Lead recruitment efforts and actively support your team’s professional development.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability in leading and coaching teams of skilled professionals, creating a collaborative and productive work culture.
• The ability to break down large projects into actionable tasks to delegate effectively.
• Exceptional people management skills to inspire and guide team members in achieving their goals.
• Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and staying ahead of industry trends to drive innovation.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
