As the Department Manager of the Services Development & Innovation team, you will play a pivotal role in leading, directing and overseeing the development of vessel lifecycle support and training solutions. Your primary focus will be on leveraging data and technology to improve ship operations as well as increasing the availability and reliability of Damen Naval products.

As the Department Manager Services Development & Innovation, your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of Data Scientists and Solution Architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment while setting clear objectives, providing feedback, and ensuring the professional development of team members.
• Overseeing the execution of development projects in the field of Integrated Logistic Support and Services, ensuring timely completion with desired outcomes.
• Developing and implementing a strategic vision for Integrated logistic support, data driven maintenance and crew training that aligns with the company's goals for ship lifecycle support and training services.
• Collaborating with various departments such as Engineering, Operations, Services and Proposals to integrate developed solutions effectively into all facets of the business.
• Managing resources, budgets, and priorities for the Data Scientist and Solution Architect teams to ensure projects are adequately resourced and cost-effective.
• Ensuring the quality of data analytics, modelling, and architectural designs, setting, and maintaining ambitious standards for performance, security, and reliability.
• Developing and tracking key performance indicators for the Data Scientist and Solution Architect teams, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
• Stays abreast with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in ship lifecycle support, training, and Integrated Logistic Support services.
• Collaborates with external vendors, research partners, customers, and technology providers to leverage external expertise and resources.

To excel as Department Manager Services Development & Innovation, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Master of Bachelor degree in Naval architecture, mechanical or civil engineering or another technical study.
• At least ten years of relevant experience and in-depth knowledge of ship maintenance, repair, and logistic support processes.
• Experience in the naval or maritime industry or ship lifecycle support industry and in creating and delivering training programs.
• Knowledge of maritime regulations, compliance, data ethics, compliance, security
• Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
