As the Senior Frontend Software Engineer leading the Sparky team, you will be at the core of driving Eneco’s digital transformation. Sparky is the Design System of DXP, and you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and developing reusable components that engineers across Eneco rely on. Your strong understanding of web architecture, interaction patterns, usability, and accessibility—especially in line with the European Accessibility Act (EAA)—will ensure that our components are clean, functional, and accessible.
You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders, designers, analysts, architects, and developers, managing requests, challenging ideas when necessary, and making sound decisions to maintain balance between functionality and simplicity. As the gatekeeper, you’ll ensure consistency across the platform while upholding the highest standards of code quality.
Beyond technical expertise, you’ll have a direct hand in shaping the future of our web platform, enhancing the customer experience, and contributing innovative ideas that align with Eneco's commitment to a greener, more sustainable future. At least 5 years of work experience building high-performing micro frontend websites
Relevant frontend experience working with JavaScript (ES6, ES7), React (Redux), Webpack, Post CSS/Sass, Playwright/Cypress /Jest, Git, NodeJS
Excellent problem-solving skills, you are proactive and comfortable with taking initiative
Excellent communication skills in English

Leading the Sparky team, this team oversees the Eneco Design System
Further developing Eneco's websites with a focus on usability, responsiveness, and performance.
Developing Single Page Applications with React and Next.js.
Bringing innovations to production faster and making them more stable (CI/CD),
Keeping the websites and parts you build operational (DevOps).
You will work in an agile/scrum environment encouraging initiative and individual growth.
In this role, you will join Eneco’s Web Foundation Team “Sparky”, which oversees the platforms, systems, and processes that impact all product teams. Together, this collaborative and ambitious team drives initiatives to improve the technical quality of Eneco's websites, from the design system to the content management system (CMS). Working with colleagues from diverse disciplines, you’ll have ample opportunities to share ideas, build innovative solutions, and contribute to projects that shape the future of energy.
