Are you experienced in proactively managing your technical suppliers? Do you

understand the product design of high tech machinery? If you would like to be the linking pin between our suppliers and our Development & Engineering (D&E) teams, we'd love to connect!

In our mechanical supplier quality engineer role you will have an ownership to make sure that our suppliers deliver the right quality and quantity on time. You will also get the chance to further develop your result driven approach and your excellent stakeholder management skills.

Role and Responsibilities

As supplier quality engineer you will be part of the D&E project team, therefore you will interface with project leaders, design engineers, architects, manufacturing, customer support engineers, logistics, and procurement.

As senior supplier quality engineer You will:

  • Support supplier selection and be involved from the beginning with supplier D&E projects to ensure that the technology expertise of ASML and of suppliers are merged in the best way
  • Have a coordinating role with respect to all supplier quality engineering activities and fellow quality engineers within the allocated project
  • Ensure that manufacturability, costs, and serviceability aspects are covered in the design phase
  • Document the D&E project collaboration, including suppliers, ASML's responsibilities and roles via a Statement of Work (SoW)
  • Contribute to supplier development to improve operational excellence by driving execution of existing agreements, improvement actions, and participation in supplier audits
  • Define and maintain supplier interface processes, such as issue resolution, qualification deviation, configuration & change management, and ASML factory disturbances
  • Be responsible for deliverables that secure parts quality from suppliers in the ASML product generation process, such as:
    • acceptance of the design and/or specification-
    • complete & detailed parts qualification process
    • acceptance of qualified parts
    • process flow and Process failure mode effect analysis
    • first article inspection

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 5 years of working experience and affinity with high-tech industry, and complex modules, with a focus on supplier quality and part quality.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical constructions and production technologies.
  • A plus: knowledge of vacuum technology.
  • A plus: experience with Six Sigma Green of Black Belt and experience in engineering towards production processes experience in engineering towards production processes.

  • Good to have: Dutch language proficiency (given most of the supply base is in the direct environment of ASML, the Netherlands)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Supplier Management, strong networker with good negotiating  and communication skills
  • Ability to initiate, influence and steer without formal authority
  • Ability to switch between complex matters and high-level conclusions
  • Unraveling complex situations and converting them into clear overviews and high-level conclusions
  • Flexible and team player, result driven and committed

Other information

Within ASML, D&E is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of

integrated solutions that meet business requirements. This responsibility also includes the specification and trade-offs across sectors. The department supplies resources, means and methods and technology to ensure the parts quality in all product phases. The SQE interfaces with ASML designs engineers, project leads, suppliers, customer support, manufacturing engineers and procurement.

Depending on the supplier and project this position might require frequent travelling.
