Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Lead to oversee clean and black utilities systems for a major pharmaceutical construction project in Belgium. This role requires expertise in mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning within regulated pharmaceutical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical package design and execution for clean utilities (WFI, purified water, clean steam, HVAC)
  • Oversee black utilities systems (compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, waste treatment)
    Manage contractor coordination and ensure compliance with GMP regs
  • Review P&IDs, equipment specifications, and installation procedures
  • Coordinate with project management, process engineering, and quality
  • Ensure adherence to project timeline, budget, and quality standards
  • Lead commissioning, qualification, and validation activities
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and client representatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years experience in pharmaceutical/biotech facility construction
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and relevant standards
  • Experience with clean utilities design and commissioning
  • Previous package lead experience on large-scale pharma projects
  • Knowledge of Belgian building codes and permitting processes
  • Understanding of process validation and CSV requirements
  • Fluent in English; Dutch/French language skills preferred
  • Valid EU work authorization
