Communications Manager

We are looking for an ambitious and successful professional with a strong track record in taking corporate communications to the next level. We are strengthening our corporate communications team, and are seeking our new:

The Communications Manager will bring extensive experience and expertise in corporate communications to lead and manage a variety of communication initiatives, both internal and external. One of your focus areas will be communicating our ESG agenda, as this is one of Refresco's strategic priorities. You are a strategic thinker who can manage multiple projects at the same time, in an ever-changing environment. You love to roll up your sleeves and get things done, supporting and advising a wide range of international stakeholders. You'll convert strategies into actionable communication plans and execute the plans by delivering engaging communication across all channels in strong collaboration with your direct colleagues. In this role you will be part of a small but highly engaged and entrepreneurial Communications team based in Rotterdam, and report directly to Refresco's Head of Communications.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies and plans, including communications related to Refresco's M&A activities
• External Communications and Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists to promote positive press coverage; deliver strong external communications in line with our corporate strategy
• ESG Communications: Lead the development of engaging, compelling yet realistic communications, both internally and externally, for our groupwide ESG & sustainability strategy
• Content Development: Oversee, create, and distribute content across various external channels, including press releases, websites, newsletters, and media, in close collaboration with your other colleagues in the team
• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders - including senior leadership, business unit leadership, and local communications managers - and ensure their communication needs are met
• Crisis Communications: Be prepared to respond to and manage crisis situations, working in coordination with the leadership team to protect the company's reputation
• Brand Management: Collaborate with the other team members to maintain and enhance the company's brand image, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity.

Your profile

• You have a Bachelor/Master's degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in a senior communications role, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies
• Preferably experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments
• Experience with ESG/sustainability and crisis management is a plus
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• You connect easily to different stakeholders and have a natural interest in people and building strong relationships
• A strong team player, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to work
• Good understanding of the Dutch language
• English as a native language is strongly preferred
• You love to work at the office most of your time and enjoy having fun!
