The role

As the Design and Proposal Engineer Integrated Logistics Support within the Proposals team at Damen Naval, you play a key part in the delivery of deal-winning tender packages related to state-of-the-art naval vessels and maritime solutions. You will deliver the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) solution for each proposal, comprised of the specifications, calculations, and requirement. As a member of a multidisciplinary tender project team, you will ensure the successful integration of ILS principles for sustainment and maintenance concepts into our naval projects. By delivering this data, you play an essential part in providing deal-winning proposals related to big naval shipbuilding projects to add to Damen Naval its longstanding reputation as a leading naval shipbuilder.

Key accountabilities

As the Design and Proposal Engineer Integrated Logistics Support, your key responsibilities will include:

• Design the ILS- specifications according the technical and financial requirements as outlined in the tender project.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, draft ILS specifications, and support RFQ processes and evaluations.
• Evaluate designs against requirements and prepare corresponding reports.
• Write technical documents, equipment specifications, contract specifications, and reports, effectively communicating complex concepts and data.
• Facilitate communication with stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment on ILS solutions.
• Participate in discussions with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders on the technical aspects of proposed ILS solutions.
• Support the evaluation of costs provided by suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal engineering departments to optimize project outcomes.

Skills & experience

To excel as the Design and Proposal Engineer Integrated Logistics Support, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• At least one year of relevant experience in design concepts and practices, preferably in ILS for complex (naval) ships or offshore or maritime solutions.
• Experience in technologically advanced design and proposal processes within the ILS domain.
• Bachelor (or Master) degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Asset- and/or Maintenance Management or any other related Technical, Maritime and/or Operational field, focusing on sustainment of technical installations and systems.
• Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
