You hold a meaningful management position where technology, processes, and, above all, the care for people come together. You are responsible for a team of approximately 70 engineers active in international projects in crane electrification, automation, and digitization. The team has a mix of nationalities and cultures, and specializes in hardware, software, or commissioning engineering. The work is divided into five disciplines, each with discipline leads. The lead engineers are responsible for the technical execution of our projects and the R&D engineers also fall under your leadership.
The Head of Engineering is key to achieving our ambition to grow three times faster than the market. Is an extensive engineering background vital for success? Not necessarily. We ask for an experienced manager who understands a technical project environment and can elevate large teams to a higher level. You do this by increasing engineering capacity by recruiting new talent, making engineering processes more efficient, and standardizing them. You can identify new technical developments and incorporate them into our plans for the future.
In a team that continuously grows and changes and always works against deadlines, we expect you to create an open and motivating atmosphere with room for growth and development. This means thoroughly understanding the work and customers and providing a clear division of tasks and responsibilities. You set the course for excellent engineering by facilitating your experts and deploying new techniques (from AI and digital twins to cybersecurity).
The engineering team's planning is dynamic due to the combination of engineering and commissioning work at container terminals worldwide. Together with the discipline leads and lead engineers, you ensure reliable planning and steer the engineering department towards efficiency goals.

• Coaching and inspiring employees;
• Expanding engineering capacity in line with growth objectives;
• Developing excellent engineering standards, processes, and tools;
• Promoting a high-performance culture, open feedback, and eagerness to learn.

Your success is grounded in

• Working in a complex international environment suits you well. You keep an overview of your team and ongoing projects. You are approachable and enjoy brainstorming with your engineers. This combination ensures that you quickly have a (well-founded) plan ready, set priorities, and make decisions.
• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a technical background;
• At least 10 years of experience with projects in a technical environment;
• Experience with resource management in a management or team leader position;
• Proven successes in coaching a team to a top level;
• Excellent language skills in English.
