Are you an experienced Integration Engineer with a passion for propulsion systems? Damen Naval is looking for a talented individual to join our innovative and dynamic team. As an Integration Engineer Propulsion, you will play a crucial role in designing and integrating propulsion systems for our cutting-edge naval shipbuilding projects.

The role

In this position, you will be involved throughout the entire engineering stage—from the proposal phase to defining and selecting the optimal propulsion configurations and components. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of propulsion systems, working closely with suppliers, internal departments, and statutory bodies.

Key accountabilities

As Integration Engineer Propulsion your key responsibilities will include:

• Develop functional technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors based on customer and design requirements.

• Perform technical evaluations of supplier quotations in collaboration with the purchasing department.

• Ensure compliance with all customer and statutory requirements during technical discussions with suppliers.

• Acquire and review supplier engineering information and documentation, including mechanical drawings, schematics, calculations, and electrical diagrams.

• Integrate delivered components and systems into ship designs and coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, statutory bodies, and the owner.

• Compose technical and functional specification documents, such as system descriptions, installation procedures, and alignment procedures.

• Verify technical performance through dynamic simulations, inspections at supplier premises, FATs, and onboard installations.

• Contribute to the continuous development of the engineering department.

Skills & experience

To excel as Integration Engineer Propulsion, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Bachelor degree in engineering or proven work skills based on experience.

• Expertise in propulsion systems within the naval shipbuilding, offshore, or commercial shipbuilding sectors.

• Proficiency in English and preferably Dutch, both verbally and in writing.

• Strong competencies in customer orientation, quality and results focus, teamwork, flexibility, planning, organizing, management control, decisiveness, and initiative.

• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
