Internship AXOS Waar ga je werken?

Are you a university MSc student studying (bio)chemistry, (bio)chemical engineering or similar? And are you looking for a challenging internship starting between April-September 2025 for a duration of 4 to 6 months? Cosun RD&I offers you an interesting assignment!
You will be located at our Cosun innovation center in Dinteloord (between Breda and Rotterdam). Cosun is a modern, future-oriented cooperative, originated in the Netherlands and with the world as its field of activity. We work with thousands of growers, both members and suppliers. We know the enormous potential of plants and know how to convert them into usable solutions for every day. Cosun not only produces vegetable ingredients and food for humans and animals, but also green, biobased solutions and energy.

What are you going to do?
Fibers are an important fraction of cereal co-products that can be upcycled to various applications. In your internship you will focus on the extraction and valorization of soluble fibers like AXOS from residual streams of the agro-food industry. Additionally, you will work on the structural characterization of oligosaccharides and polysaccharides by using several analytical techniques.

Who are you?
You are a 2nd year MSc university student, with affinity for sustainable food products in general and green process development, biochemistry and analytical chemistry in particular. You are studying (bio)chemistry, (bio)chemical engineering, biotechnology or similar. You are available for an internship or graduation thesis, for the duration of 4 – 6 months.

Furthermore we ask:

• A pro-active, independent attitude and drive;
• Fluency in spoken and written English and/or Dutch
• Knowledge of- and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Where are you going to work?
Cosun RD&I is the knowledge and expertise center of Cosun, situated in the Cosun innovation center in Dinteloord. Cosun RD&I provides services to the Cosun business groups and their customers by sharing its know-how and experience in a wide ranges of (R&D) competences. With this knowledge, our colleagues at Cosun RD&I help to coordinate and initiate research and development Cosun wide. Additionally, Cosun RD&I works together with the business groups to develop new and innovative applications of biomass. Our Cosun innovation center facilitates in experimental set ups for process analyses, research laboratories,
a pilot plant and our very own bakery, for testing new concepts.

What will you get from us?
The possibility to gain extensive experience in this specific field of expertise with experience within a modern, future-oriented and sustainable cooperative. You will be working together with the other business groups. In addition, we offer an internship allowance between €618,- and €800- per month based on a 40-hour week.

Procedure

Je leren kennen

Indien je goed aansluit op de vacature neemt de HR Specialist Recruitment contact met je op. Dit om alvast een eerste beeld te krijgen en mogelijke vragen van weerszijde beantwoord te krijgen.

Het eerste gesprek

In het eerste gesprek kom je in contact met jouw mogelijk toekomstige manager en uiteraard is er iemand van HR aanwezig om je als persoon wat beter te leren kennen.

Case

Mogelijk is een case onderdeel van de procedure. Hierin wordt er gekeken hoe je met bepaalde praktijksituaties om zou gaan. Vaak kan de case vanuit huis worden gemaakt en soms maak je de case voor aanvang van het 2e gesprek op locatie.

Het tweede gesprek

Wat goed je bent nog in de procedure! Tijdens dit gesprek gaan we nog wat dieper op de zaken in. Daarnaast willen ook deze personen je nog wat beter leren kennen, zodat we zeker weten dat we een mooie match hebben.
