As an IT Scrum Master you'll work as part of a team of application engineer specialists, focusing on the design and implementation of technical solutions in support of customer needs (in- and outside of IT). You'll generally work within one or multiple teams in a Release Train. You execute the most complex tasks to build new solutions in line with industry standards. And will understand the application software roadmap and oversee the larger system. Next to that you'll supports and signal problems on the level of the Agile Release Train and act as a mentor for colleagues to explain problems and/ or solutions.
Role and responsibilitiesYou'll be a Scrum Master with strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills to support the Level Up Team within the Workprep ART. This team works on a specific LCM project that involves multiple dependencies on a vendor, vendor consultants, and the infrastructure team. You must be able to proactively manage dependencies, mediate team conflicts, and drive alignment between business and technical priorities. The role requires a strong servant leader who can navigate high-pressure stakeholder expectations while fostering team accountability, collaboration, and Agile discipline. As IT Scrum Master, you’ll:
Dependency & Stakeholder Management
Identify, track, and mitigate critical dependencies with external vendors, consultants, and the ART’s infrastructure team
Act as a bridge between the team and stakeholders, ensuring clear expectations and proactive risk management
Facilitate collaborative discussions between internal and external teams to align priorities and resolve blockers
Agile Team Coaching
Address internal team dynamics, fostering a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and shared decision-making
Proactively mediate conflicts and coach team members on working together constructively rather than hierarchically
Reinforce Agile values to ensure that team decisions are respected and not revisited after the fact unless necessary
Driving Alignment & Accountability
Support the Product Owner (PO) and System Architect (SA) in refining and maintaining an updated backlog and roadmap
Ensure the team is aligned on priorities, preventing scope misalignment and late-stage questioning of decisions
Encourage clear documentation and transparent communication in refinements to ensure alignment before execution
Stakeholder Management
Help provide visibility into progress
Work closely with PO and SA to set realistic expectations and negotiate feasible delivery timelines
Role Specific Expectations
Proactive dependency management – must be comfortable working with external vendors and infrastructure teams to align delivery timelines
Strong team facilitation and mediation skills – ability to navigate internal team conflicts and foster a collaborative environment
Strategic communication with stakeholders – balancing transparency with realistic commitments to manage delivery pressure
Support PO & SA in backlog readiness – ensuring the team has clear direction and well-prioritized work
Education and experience
To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on High Tech products and with complex processes. As an IT Scrum Master, you’ll need:
At least 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a SAFe environment Experience working with teams that have external vendor dependencies
Strong conflict resolution and facilitation skills
The ability to coach team members on collaboration and accountability
Excellent stakeholder management skills, especially under pressure
Certified SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or equivalent
Experience working in high-stakes delivery environments
The ability to drive backlog health in collaboration with PO & SA
Knowledge with Coach/Indicenter landscape is a plus, but not mandatory
