Machine Operator (Technician)

We are the largest tray pooling company in Europe issuing more than 1.2 billion tray movements per annum to Suppliers who deliver their products into the major Food Retailers in folding trays. The depot will build its throughput requirements into a 24/7 operation across three shifts receiving, washing, and reissuing the trays to its customer base.

The purpose of the role is to ensure reliable and efficient running of the automated tray wash machine at our Doncaster depot. You will be the first line response for breakdowns and work with the National Technical Dept to ensure that the installation is regularly maintained.

As a 24/7 operation, all roles will be working on 8hr shifts rotating across mornings, evenings and nights.

Washing Production

– Monitoring the machine running

– Ensuring the machine is running at peak efficiency to achieve KPIs

– Ensuring all minor issues are resolved as quickly as possible to minimse downtime

Planned / Preventative Maintenance

– Working with the National Technical to lead the planning of regular maintenance

– Execute the maintenance plans of the technical installation

– Contribute recommendations for improvements of the washing installation including decreasing costs, consumption, increasing efficiency and working safely

– Align with the depot management to ensure minimal disruption to operation

Installation Failures

– Solve failures on the installation within agreed KPI’s

– Follow up and record all repairs, breakdowns and downtime

– Training of Shift Leaders to ensure adequate absence cover

Health and Safety

– All colleagues are responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others.

– Identify and report potential hazards.

– Safe use of chemicals.

Skills / Experience

– Secondary vocational education degree in Mechanical engineering

– Secondary vocational education degree in Electrical engineering

– Working knowledge of MS Office

– Experience using MHE desirable

– Experience working with automated machinery desirable
