  • Get creative and experiment with different IoT tools and solutions

  • Build a future proof Asset Connectivity Platform at the heart of our sustainable energy business

  • Directly contribute to the energy transition by helping us optimally utilize and steer renewable energy sources

Why choose Eneco?

At Eneco, everything revolves around innovation in sustainable energy and advanced IT solutions, where you can play a crucial role in achieving climate neutrality by 2035. With us, you contribute to environmentally friendly energy solutions within the innovative Asset Operations department. The introduction of IoT, starting with smart heat meters, has revolutionized the optimization of energy assets, ranging from heat networks to wind and solar parks. In this, you get an active role in creating a more sustainable energy system for the future.

A good example of what you will work on is the project for Rijkswaterstaat. The question was how we can reduce the ecological impact of a wind farm. For example, by protecting migratory birds that die from a collision with a wind turbine blade. It soon became clear that we could reuse an existing IoT solution for this. A radar that detects flying objects uses the same communication protocols. We then connected the radar to our data platform alongside the wind farm controller. Now we can shut down the turbines when there are birds nearby.

What you’ll do

In your role as a IoT DevOps engineer, your tasks and responsibilities are clearly delineated to ensure the efficient operation and continuous improvement of our Asset Connectivity Platform. This platform plays a pivotal role in monitoring and steering sustainable energy assets like wind and solar farms, batteries, and energy users. Your main tasks are:

  • Develop and maintain Azure Functions for event-driven processing of IoT data
  • Design and implement integration solutions for onboarding new asset types, leveraging MQTT, AMQP, and other IoT protocols
  • Optimize Azure IoT services such as Event Hub and Data Explorer, improving performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using IaaC Tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement security best practices, including key rotation, certificate management, and access control mechanisms
  • Continuously analyze and refine platform performance, ensuring high availability and efficient data processing

Is this about you?

  • Solid software development know-how with at least 2 years of coding experience, preferably in Javascript/Typescript

  • This is where you’ll work

You will work directly with 14 colleagues: a Scrum Master, Solutions consultant, IoT engineers with different specialties. We work in an informal and flexible way with a lot of freedom. The atmosphere is open, with plenty of room for your own initiative and ideas. Our company policy is working hybrid where we go to the office twice a week.
