Overview

To support our continued growth in the Pharma, Food and Med Tech sectors in our Benelux business we are now seeking to appoint a Team Lead for the Process & Process Mechanical team in our Benelux office.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Team Lead

is responsible for the management and development of the Process & Process Mechanical Team. The Team Lead Process & Process Mechanical is responsible for the delivery of process & process mechanical deliverables including calculations block and process flow diagrams, P&ID’s, lists, datasheets, specifications etc. from feasibility stage to detailed design onto construction support.


Responsibilities

Key Administrative Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day tasks of the Process & Process Mechanical team:
    • Resource planning.
    • Ensure activities follow company workflows.
    • Maintain strong client relationships to attract, win, and deliver projects.
    • Provide leadership to the team, communicate company/team/individual goals, and set clear performance expectations.
  • Responsibility for the Process & Process Mechanical graduate development programme.
  • Recruitment and development of personnel – internal training, performance appraisals, mentoring etc. for all personnel in the Process & Process Mechanical team.
  • Develop systems to improve and standardise project execution.
  • Performance management and reward activities for the department.
  • Participate in proposal and business development activities.
  • Actively support the CPD (Continuous Professional Development)
  • Lead project governance activities such as single discipline design reviews and project health checks.
  • Maintain and improve quality standards within the team.
  • Demonstrate and promote core values and codes of practice within the Department.
  • Engage and support the alignment / continuous development of inter-office workshare across several company locations.
  • Champion digital improvements within the team.

Key Technical Responsibilities:

  • Champion Health & Safety in design and construction within the Process & Process Mechanical Team.
  • Mentoring Junior to Senior Engineers to improve and develop their skill sets within the team.
  • Support Process & Process Mechanical design related improvements via the EMF and other forums as necessary.
  • Support the development of the Process & Process Mechanical MOE (Multi-Office Execution) capability.
  • Lead commercial and risk reviews of projects
  • As required function as a Lead on Projects.
  • Ensure the Process & Process Mechanical team is aligned with the PM Group Digital Project Delivery strategy.
  • Participate in projects, particularly at Concept and BOD (Basis of Design) stages and during Design Reviews.
  • Develop execution strategies for projects.
  • Estimating and scoping of projects. Defining the extent of project deliverables and overseeing the implementation of Process & Process Mechanical design scope.
  • Refine and improve the interaction with other Disciplines.
  • Interact with Clients with a view to building positive working relationships and securing future Projects / Opportunities.
  • Lead innovation within the Process & Process Mechanical team.
  • Responsible for all aspects of technical quality of discipline deliverables including checking, use of proper forms and work procedures along with all discipline related calculations and respective software programs.
  • Develop / identify suitable tools, procedures, and standards to enhance the discipline.
  • Adhere to the company quality system as written in the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and the Standard Operating Procedures and the specific project procedures.
  • Continuous improvement and alignment with the Central Engineering Group along with implementing procedures.

Qualifications

  • Master degree or equivalent in a related subject (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
  • Chartered membership of the IChemE or an equivalent professional body (e.g., Engineers Ireland) is preferred.
  • Proven level of experience, competency, and skills gained in both engineering and management functions.
  • A demonstrable capability and level of experience in Process & Process Mechanical design within the Pharmaceutical, Food, or Chemical sectors.
  • Experience working in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Good knowledge of English and Dutch or French.

  • Involvement in a relevant professional institution such as IChemE, ISPE, or others would be considered favourably.
