DAMEN Digital Solutions leads in informatics, measurement technology, and data science, delivering cutting-edge solutions through its online platform, Damen Triton, to support shipowners and enhance industry performance.
The Role:
As a Product Owner Ship Data at DAMEN Digital Solutions, you will lead a dedicated team of data engineers and data scientists in developing data-driven solutions. Your primary focus will be on creating significant added value for DAMEN Digital Solutions’ clients, internal Damen customers, and all Damen Triton users.
You will play a key role in enhancing and expanding the data analytics capabilities to deliver smarter, more impactful solutions by integrating customer feedback with high-quality data tools, algorithms, machine learning models, and more.
With a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, you will act as the team lead for the Gorinchem-based data team
Key accountabilities
- Own the data analytics product of our Triton system.
- End to end ownership of team deliverables;
- Slice the work into smaller valuable pieces in close collaboration with the team;
- Prepare the team backlog for the upcoming iteration and ensure its properly prioritized for the next iteration;
- Ensures that backlog items have requirements, acceptance criteria and ensures that the team understands them;
- Align with Commercial and Operations team to fully understand the customer requirement and translate these into recognizable user stories
- Challenges the team to come with alternative solutions when needed;
- Be informed about and in control of the progress of the whole team and backlog by participating in the events of the Scrum team;
- Collaboration with relevant stakeholders to manage and collect all wishes and needs, both on technical infrastructure as well as on commercial side.
- Managing the roadmap, budget and activity planning
Skills & experience
- Bachelor degree in computer science, data science, mathematics or equivalent.
- 1-5 years of experience with data engineering and experienced in Agile/Scrum (Agile, Scrum, Lean, DevOps);
- Experience with similar data analytical products.
- Ability to educate and motivate a technical team
- Ability to translate customer needs to existing solutions Excellent analytical and reporting skills, rigorous attention to detail and bias for customer-centric planning
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Capacity to understand, challenge and connect infrastructure on levels will be a plus
- Speaking Dutch is a large pre.
