De rol

Als Project Engineer Aftersales en Services zorg je voor de planning, voorbereiding, coördinatie en uitvoering van projecten met betrekking tot de afhandeling van garantieclaims gerelateerd aan Damen Cargo Vessels (DCVe) projecten (service na aflevering, mogelijke storingen, reparatie en onderhoud) van klanten op zo'n manier dat de kwaliteitseisen, leverbetrouwbaarheid en winstgevendheid van de afdeling worden behaald.

In deze rol werk je nauw samen met een klein Aftersales en Services team binnen Damen Cargo Vessels en heb je nauw contact met alle andere disciplines binnen het Damen Cargo Vessels team en de Damen Services divisie in Gorinchem.

Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden

In deze rol zal je:

• Overnemen van een project / schip van het DCVe Operations team en afhandelen van projecten na levering volgens contract en afspraken;
• Invoeren van het DCVe Garantieproces en procedures bij klanten;
• Afhandelen van garantiemateriaal in direct contact met klantenvertegenwoordigers;
• Nodige producten en diensten inkopen van derden, inclusief selecteren van offertes en voorwaarden;
• Bewaken van voortgang met betrekking tot budget, kwaliteit en planning;
• Toezicht houden op grootschalige reparaties;
• Proactief feedback delen binnen DCVe evenals nieuwbouwwerven om de DCVe producten te verbeteren (incl. standaardisatie);
• Bepalen en/of goedkeuren van meer- en minderwerk;
• Opstellen van (voortgangs)rapporten en eindevaluaties;
• Bezoeken van klanten en schepen onder garantie.

Vaardigheden & ervaring

Om succesvol te zijn in deze rol breng je mee:

• Een MBO+ of HBO diploma of denkniveau in Werktuigbouwkunde of vergelijkbaar;
• Ongeveer 5 jaar werkervaring in een vergelijkbare rol als Project Engineer in de maritieme sector, ervaring als Superintendent of als Zeevarende;
• Ervaring met het zelfstandig inkopen van producten en diensten;
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden in zowel Nederlands als Engels;
• Incidenteel reizen maakt deel uit van deze rol.

The role

As Project Engineer Aftersales and Services you take care of the planning, preparation, coordination and execution of projects with regard to the handling of warranty claims related to Damen Cargo Vessels (DCVe) projects (after delivery service, possible malfunction, , repair and maintenance) of clients in such a way that the quality requirements, delivery reliability and profitability of the department are met.

In this role you work closely with a small Aftersales and Services team within Damen Cargo Vessels and you are in close contact with all other disciplines within the Damen Cargo Vessels team and the Damen Services division in Gorinchem.

Key accountabilities

In this role you will be:

• Taking over of a project / vessel from the DCVe Operations team and handling of after delivery projects according to contract and agreements;
• Introducing the DCVe Warranty process and procedures to customers;
• Handling warranty matters in direct contact with customer representatives;
• Purchasing the necessary products and services from third parties, including selecting quotations and conditions;
• Monitoring of progress with regard to budget, quality and planning;
• Supervising large scale repairs;
• Pro-actively sharing feedback within DCVe as well as newbuilding yards improving the DCVe products (incl. Standardization);
• Determining and/or approving additional and reduced work;
• Drawing up (progress) reports and final evaluations;
• Visiting clients and vessels under warranty.

Skills & experience

To be successful in this role you bring:

• A MBO+ or HBO degree or thinking level in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
• Approximately 5 years of working experience in a similar role as Project Engineer in the maritime sector, experience as Superintendent or as a Seafarer;
• Experience in independently purchasing products and services;
• Good communication skills in both Dutch and English;
• Occasional travelling is part of this role.
