About us

Damen Services provides its services to the customers of Damen Shipyards as a total services solution provider. Damen Services is responsible for carrying out a wide range of service activities worldwide and on a commercial basis, resulting from the start-up, deployment and life time extension of delivered installations/vessels. Commissioning, repair, warranty, service and maintenance activities are the most prominent of these. Also the realization of training for crews, the delivery of ships, maintenance management and the supply of parts during (new) construction are part of the services portfolio. Finally, as a business partner of Damen Shipyards' customers, Damen Services also realizes structural and long-term projects.

The Asset Management Design (AMD) department is part of Damen Services. It is responsible for developing and supplying asset management solutions for our customers. This includes products such as spare part packages, vessel operating manuals, maintenance plans and maintenance analysis. The products are created in multi-disciplinary teams.

The role

As Project Engineer Spare Part packages you provide our customers with Spare part packages. These packages have different values ​​and volumes, depending on the budget and requirements of our customers. The delivery of a package is carried out on a project basis which can be combined with the delivery of a new Damen vessel or in a later stage.

Thanks to your practical technical knowledge, you can provide our customers with good advice about the contents of the package, but also think of advice for storage (on board or in a warehouse). The Project Engineer Spare Parts packages will mainly focus on the ships that are specifically engineered for a customer and where you carefully monitor the impact for the spare parts during the engineering and construction phase.

You have contact with suppliers and you coordinate with the client. In addition, you have daily consultation with the supply chain department regarding the correct follow-up of our suppliers.

As you are responsible for several projects at the same time, it is necessary that you properly organize and monitor the planning and the financial and logistics processes.

Responsibilities

• Compiling and mapping complete spare parts packages for Damen vessels.
• Providing correct and careful spare part proposals offers.
• Set up project in ERP system and have the right parts purchased.
• Monitoring the quality of the end product, the spare part package.
• Managing and preparing logistics routing for delivery to the yard or to the end customer.
• Ensuring the right quality and financial results of the projects.

Skills and experiences

• MBO/HBO technical education, Logistics or equivalent.
• Experience with technical maintenance in industry or shipping and knowledge of spare parts is a plus.
• Good command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
• Strong in forming a combination between technical, logistical and commercial aspects of assignments.
• Can work well under time pressure.
• Accurate, orderly, customer-oriented, quality-conscious, strong communicator.
• Team player and has a hands-on mentality.
• Already living in The Netherlands.
