Vacature

Delivering innovative solutions to support the energy transition. As a Scrum Master, you will be guiding teams and people in delivering results consisting of innovative IT solutions for the energy grid. This is a role for 32 to 40 hours a week. On Monday and Thursday, we’re in the office (Arnhem and Amsterdam). You will make the energy grid more innovative at Alliander.

The energy transition needs you as a Scrum Master  

As a Scrum Master with a proven track record of achieving project milestones, your main task at Allianders' System Operations department is to facilitate, orchestrate, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of projects aimed at enhancing the electricity grid's flexibility. Handling congestion within the energy grid is important, and operating capability is key to achieving our delivery targets.  

This critical role involves leading high-performing agile teams, facilitating seamless communication between stakeholders as well as across companies, and ensuring projects alignment with strategic objectives and delivery timelines. You will drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve grid management and accelerate project delivery, directly contributing to the energy transition and sustainability goals within a pioneering, English-speaking environment. We contribute to the energy transition, for everyone. And as a Scrum Master with a commitment to meeting deadlines, you can take part in this transition.  

Your role involves:  

  • Acting as a supporting leader dedicated to creating high-performing teams. 

  • Facilitating collaboration across companies working on the same project or goal. 

  • Focus on teams within the department. 

  • Driving to solve organizational issues and foster alignment. 

  • Innovating in project delivery and management. 

  • Fostering teamwork and helping the team grow through coaching and support.

As a Scrum Master in the System Operations department at Alliander, you play a key role in meeting project deadlines. We provide an inspiring work environment that fuels your performance and supports your commitment to excellence. 

System Operations is composed of 20 multidisciplinary, highly skilled, and driven IT teams, embracing agile methodologies and an entrepreneurial spirit with a strong focus on timely project completion. Together, we develop and operate a control system to manage grid flexibility, always with an eye on delivery deadlines. Our constant pursuit of innovation enhances our services and accelerates our delivery capabilities. Creative thinking and ongoing learning are essential in this dynamic environment where delivery is paramount.   

In your role, you work closely with the Partnership Managers and colleagues in different roles across all levels from CxO to Product Owners, within Alliander and also with external partners. Together with the team, you ensure that objectives and deadlines are consistently met and that planning and collaboration are tailored to the capabilities and possibilities of the situation and respective teams, delivering our milestones on time and with excellent quality. We are looking for an inspiring and motivating colleague who can build and motivate teams to achieve delivery targets, manage risks and issues proactively, ensure on-time delivery, coach team members to enhance their delivery focus, and facilitate continuous improvement by applying agile tools and techniques correctly to optimize delivery processes.  

System Operations is based in Arnhem, but our hybrid working model offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. Whether it's from our offices in Apeldoorn, Amsterdam, Haarlem, or your home, location is no barrier. With team members from around the globe, English is our main language. We foster intense collaboration across all 20 teams, making a team-oriented attitude essential.

  • At least 6+ years of business experience in a Scrum Master/ Agile Coach role. 

  • Experience working with larger international corporations. 

  • Skilled in fostering teamwork and collaboration. 

  • A completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 

  • Scrum Master certification is preferred.  

Better organized for you  

Based on a 40-hour working week, you will receive:  

  • A gross monthly salary of € 4.490 to € 6.415 (scale 9) 

  • Annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and an 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as an extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you.  

  • 24.5 days holiday per year, which can be topped up generously from your IKB. 

  • An end-of-year bonus of 6% of your annual salary in December.  

  • A sustainable employability (SE) budget of €500 per year. Choose a payment for a sport or hobby, to make your home more sustainable or to reduce your student loan debt with DUO, for example. You decide how your budget is spent. 

  • Workations are part of our collective labor agreement  

  • Eligible employees can benefit from the 30% tax ruling
