The energy transition needs you as Senior Energy Systems Expert  

Together we are working on developing products for calculations in the distribution network. We are developing and maintaining 3 products, supporting short-term and long-term calculations in System Operations. We are creating the energy grid of the future, for everyone, with everyone. And as Energy Systems Expert, you can play your part in this. Your role will involve: 

 

  • develop and improve our products  

  • add features into our existing products 

  • oversee and solve complex analytical problems  

  • think critically, open for new ideas and eager to learn about the developing software products for the energy sector.

You will be working at our Liander business unit Liander. Here you will share responsibility for managing and maintaining energy networks, like the electricity and gas grids. This is how we deliver energy to households, businesses and other clients.

The System Operations department is made up of smart and committed professionals. Grid Operations and Analytics (GOAT) is a multidisciplinary DevOps team consisting of software developers,  energy specialists, product owner and scrum master. Together we are working on developing products for calculations in the distribution network. We are developing and maintaining 3 products, supporting short-term and long-term calculations in System Operations. 

 

 

You energise our network   

Contributing to the digitalisation of the energy transition. With your talent and strengths, you can do that at our company. Will you contribute with your innovative solutions? We are looking in particular for a candidate with:  

 

  • Bachelor or university degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, control engineering, mechanical engineering or physics. 

  • At least 4 years experience with power system calculations, such as state estimation, power flow or short-circuit calculations. 

  • Understanding of network topology and security concepts for high, medium or low voltage networks. 

  • At least 3 years programming experience in Python. 

  • Experience or willingness to learn how to writing and maintain automatic tests. This includes Unit Tests, Integration Tests, End-to-End Tests that are run or started from the CI/CD pipelines. 

 

 

 

Attractive salary and benefits package 

Based on a 40-hour working week, you will receive:  

 

  • a gross monthly salary of € 5103,- to € 7291,- (scale 10); 

  • annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you. 

  • annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you. 

  • 24.5 days’ holiday per year, which can be topped up generously from your IKB. It is also possible to swap 1 or 2 official public holidays under the collective labour agreement for public holidays of another culture or religion. 

  • an end-of-year bonus of 6% of your annual salary in December. 

  • a sustainable employability (SE) budget of €500 per year. Choose a payment for a sport or hobby, to make your home more sustainable or to reduce your student loan debt with DUO, for example. You decide how your budget is spent.  

  • the Sustainable Employability Budget (DIB). You will receive a budget of €500 per year, which can be used, for example, for health-and-safety-compliant furniture for a home office, career development, professional literature, a sports subscription or coaching.
