Senior strategy manager - reuse & repair

Introduction

ASML’s complex lithography systems consist of over hundred thousand parts, nearly all sourced from external suppliers. The Reuse and Repair department is responsible for the reverse flow of all goods. Within this department we have three department; 1. Strategy and Portfolio 2. Operations 3. Programs. The department Strategy and Portfolio is responsible for the overall reuse and repair strategy for all of ASML’s products and for all of ASML’s global design and manufacturing locations, including their supply chains (centralizing all reuse and repair activities). The goal of the department is to make sure ASML can execute on its Zero waste Roadmap (which includes the design for reuse) and Capability roadmap (which includes cost competitiveness & learning cycles & volume readiness & footprint expansion) towards 2030 and beyond. The Reuse and Repair Strategy and Portfolio department have multiple openings on different levels.

The Reuse and Repair Strategy Manager will answer two major key questions:

• What technologies and capabilities should ASML develop (design & manufacture for circular economy) in order to drive reuse & repair in-house (the ‘make’) and what should the company source from external repair partners and suppliers (the ‘buy’)?
• Where should ASML make or buy: at which of ASML’s locations and from which worldwide partners and suppliers?

As (Senior) Reuse and Repair Strategy Manager, you will learn about the ins and outs of our business, contribute to ASML’s Zero waste ambitions and build a strong network. The role combines analytics, project management and strategy with relationship management and other commercial aspects. Which creates a very dynamic and versatile working environment.

Role and Responsibilities

• You will develop the capability strategy that is designed to enable ASML’s circular economy (prevent, extend, reuse and recycle).
• This includes landscaping the reuse and repair ecosystem, balancing long-term capacity with expected market requirements, ensuring availability wrt compliancy, and scouting for new repair suppliers.
• In designing and implementing the reuse and repair strategy, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, such as Strategic Sourcing, Category managers, Technology, Operations, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, and Legal.
• The position involves frequent interaction with ASML’s senior leadership. Develop, own, and present proposals to members of ASML’s Board of Management wrt Make/Buy-Where proposal for Repair.
• Combine a data-driven and analytical approach with superior stakeholder management skills to generate support from all stakeholders involved and the communicative abilities to deliver the recommendations with authority.

Education and experience

• Master or Bachelor degree in industrial management and/or MBA.
• At least 10 years of proven track record in various industries mainly focused on business development, strategy development
• Consulting experience in complex industries (pre- if this is heavily engaged on circular economy)
• Experience in Category Management from supplier point of view, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing is a pre

Skills

• Stakeholder management combined with clear communication skills (sr leadership level - ensure all parties commit and/or debottleneck process – influence without power)
• Analytical skills (translating complex data in to information and then frame for decision making - set baseline / understanding of different business needs - define gap and propose strategic direction)
• Technology awareness and have know how of lithography machines (Semicon industry)

Other information

The scope of (Senior) Reuse and Repair Strategy Manager will span the full spectrum of the organization and all technological areas, among which, Optics, Mechatronics & Mechanics, and Electrical competences. They will have a broad responsibility; act as the spin in the web for all reuse and repair related capability developments (in close collaboration SS&P strategy teams - and will be the sole point of contact for make-buy/where proposals within their scope. The (Senior) Reuse and Repair Strategy Manager will be have a global focused and travel occasionally when needed.
