Department information

The Indirect Procurement department is responsible for sourcing, supplier management- and relationships and contracting across all non-product related goods & services globally in all 3 major regions. The team consists of procurement professionals with a can-do mentality and capable of building bridges with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Position in the Organization

The holder of this position reports to the Indirect Procurement Group Category Director Logistics in Veldhoven. 

Job Mission

To support the Indirect Procurement Logistics activities, with specialism in airfreight, to focus on achieving financial and non-financial goals that are aligned within ASML’s sourcing organization and ASML logistics stakeholders.  

Role and Responsibilities

The Senior freight sourcing specialist is responsible for further strengthening and development of ASML’s Indirect Procurement Logistics team and will operate in the various freight categories, with the biggest focus on airfreight. He or she is responsible for:

• Support the global category manager, market knowledge, airfreight knowledge
• Co-develop and execute the aligned airfreight strategy, realize qualitative requirements and cost savings for ASML
• manage supplier contacts, manage and advice  internal stakeholders
• Contracting, commercial negotiations, RFI, RFQ support
• Air and ocean freight solution design
• Spot quote process set up, ad hoc rate validation
• QBR, support, MBR permanent member
• Manage suppliers on QLTCS (fact based supplier management)
• Obtain internal engagement for supplier related changes and updates
• Understand  ASML business requirements  and translate to opportunities in supplier markets
• Implement structural (air and ocean freight) supplier solutions
• Easy access to own professional air and ocean freight network.

Education and experience

• Bachelor degree or higher
• > 10 Years of logistics work experience in a professional, international and multi-cultural environment.
• > 5 year freight procurement experience
• Excellent analyst and project manager with proven ability to successfully manage projects with a scope across the whole value chain.
• Needs to have experience in airfreight , preferable broader freight experience, understands the global supplier market and experienced in air freight procurement.

Skills

• Able to communicate to suppliers and internal on all levels ( operational to strategic/senior level)  
• Knowns the freight forwarding market inside out
• Language skills English (mandatory) and Dutch (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills able to convey complex messages in an understandable way
• Team player
• Analytical, structured, accurate and able to maintain overview, assess priorities and focus on concrete results.
• Solutions orientated / problem solver
• Being able to cope with fast changing business environment

Other information

• Per ASML policy successful candidate must be able to work at least 3 days per week from the office in Veldhoven.
• Travel required 0-5%
